Of course they will completely gloss over the fact that the vast majority of women doing these "essential" jobs can be replaced by other men with better results, e.g. nurses.

Meanwhile, men have many "essential" jobs that women in no way could replicate, such as sewage workers or farming.

So let me get this straight... It takes a global pandemic that shutdown the economy (essentially most of the World) in addition to tanking businesses and risking people's livelihood (a ONCE in a lifetime occurrence) for women to become "essential"?

Funny, these days the media and politicians always say service men and woemen when it comes to remembering the sacrifices made in wars, despite that 99.99999 % percent of these sacrifices were made by men. Or when men risk their lives fighting at the front of bushfires, it is always reported "those fire men and woemen who risk their live", despite that the woemen spend no time at the fire front actually putting their lives at risk. (and that is not to undermine the effort and value of them in background roles)

Then all of a sudden, when a female dominated occupation becomes essential, despite there being many many male nurses and doctors, all the credit goes to females.
