My mother knows that it’s hard to find “decent” people, especially with these earlier generations. She hears enough of it from my older sister. And I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned that marriage is becoming outdated, and to bring a child into this twisted world would feel wrong.

When others ask me why I’m single, I tell them “Noones caught my interest, and quality is far and few between. I’m happy to spend my money on myself” they all tend to agree.

Hah, friend of mine's wife tried to, maybe set me up is too strong a word, rather "sell me on the idea" of one of her friends with the words (paraphrasing) "she deserves a good man for once, she always seems to go for the bad ones".
