My religious leader (ranked higher than a 'pope') said if you can only education one, choose the daughter, since the son can struggle through and survive.

In other words, sons are expected to be able to do. Everything on their own (excluding taking care of old people, that should be shared)

I was kicked out of my parents house by my mother when I was seventeen after not being able to fix a printer. There was more to it than that, but that was what initiated the exile. She said I was violent. She was afraid I'd rape my sister then kill her. All sorts of awful things to a boy who had never done anything wrong. I ate a pack of ramen noodles a day for about a year. Two packs if I got some overtime. I finally got a better job and was financially secure for a while.

My sister, on the other hand, got to stay there for about a decade longer (I think she moved out when she was 25 or 26). My parents still pay for her cellphone even though she's married and her husband is paid well.

Essentially, I was sent out to starve when I wore out my usefulness and my sister got to hang out until she found a man to take care of her. It's great.

A girl I used to hang out with is in her late twenties. She's a meth addict. She steals money and other things from her family, yet she's allowed to stay with them still.

I stay with my grandmother (my divorce fucked me financially and I still haven't recovered), and I drink on occasion. When I was still needing medication to not be suicidal all the time, my grandmother went to my psychologist with me and said she would kick me out if she caught me drinking again. So, if I didn't live the way she wanted me to live she'd kick me to the curb like my mother did, to starve and live out of my truck.

Life is shit for men. No one offers to help, even when they see you gradually wither away from starvation. No one gives a shit. If you aren't useful the world will leave you to die and not think a fucking thing about it.

Yes parents typically are much understanding and compassionate towards daughters. Offering support, encouragement, and endless resources. Boys get yelling, punishments, or usually just ignored. And then parents blame the boys for not being as successful and happy as their sisters.

If it makes you feel any better, my sister lives in a shithole apartment with an SJW lesbian because our feminist lesbian mother taught her to think like that. She coddled my sister while I was serving the army. My sister always had it easier.

Now she lives in a shitty apartment conplex in a side of town you hear gunshots in practically every night.

That's what feminism and progressivism gets you. I'm not doing much better by any standard, but I'm doing things on my own and working on actively improving as much as possible.

It was men who established civilization and as result the majority of them were expected to take initiative while daughters were often given away to be married to prominent chieftains or families to increase influence and strength. As a result families treated daughters as high priority goods that had to be tended too. Unfortunately without any hard times to give men a purpose in the modern world, we went from revered leaders and warriors, to disposable units of society. Mere worker bees. Meanwhile, daughters are still tended too with the same mindset. There is no love for sons because there wasn’t any love for their fathers nor their grand fathers. It’s become a cycle of mistreatment. My grand father wasn’t given anything and as a result he created an engineering business from the dirt in Dominican Republic on his own. But due to the initial lack of support, he didn’t provide any for my father and left while he was growing up. Luckily my dad is still around unlike his, but there is still the clear distinction in his treatment of me and my sisters because of those scars. And I don’t hate him for it, I only respect the fact that he stood around. It was more than enough for me.

The key is fathers. If there is no father to teach a man the skills he needs in life, then there is struggle. Daughters see momma get made up, dress, and bring streams of men through the front door, so they are taught how to survive. What can a woman teach a son about being a man?

Previous comments state the obvious, but in earlier times, sons were generally given a better deal, today however it's blatant favoritism for daughters.

With daughters you have to raise them to be able to find a good mate. If you are successful they land a good one and that’s it. If not successful they can still land a good mate just monkey branch around.

Men are stuck on their own, if they fail to realize the important of responsibility for themselves they are pretty much screwed until they can lift themselves out. On top of that if they are putting a women first, the majority of their gains go to relationship.

Men struggle with self doubt and doubt motivates one to pursue the truth.

Women struggle with self certainty and self certainty does not motivate one to pursue truth but to believe they already know/have it.
