Actually, overhearing their conversations, they ALL seemed super professional, and committed to making sure every employee (male/female) was able to get access to benefits (medical, time off etc)....but man... was my female manager (the head of H.R.) petty/catty..like she had to make really rude corrections and snippy comments via email on every little mistake I made....stuff that any male manager would have just let slide. It just made me laugh inside because it was so obvious she lacked a filter or any self-control. In my experience (decades of work) women just do not handle being "in charge" the way men do. They have to constantly remind you that they are "in charge" & "you will respect mah authoritah" etc. at EVERY available opportunity, no matter how minor. (Note: face to face she was fine to talk to) I just wanted to tell her (the HEAD of H.R.!!!) this: "Part of commanding an employee's respect means controlling your emotions via e-mail and learning which things to make a big deal about and which things to let slide...correcting EVERY little thing via e-mail makes you seem petty, insecure, and lacking in focus on what's important to the company"

Oh, I fully agree with that. Not at least because one can never know what synergies might form between different fields, how one thing might influence another.

But certain things are pretty much useless nowadays and a lot of things counting as liberal arts are amongst them. No offence to you or your college, because when done properly, human studies can provide a very valuable background and basis for all kinds of things, but that is not how it is done anymore.

Hell, my general knowledge when I was in middle school was better than that of many university students nowadays. And when you look at universities, all they produce nowadays seems to be propaganda and indoctrination, while actual knowledge actually seems to be seen as obstructive on the way to general communist happyness.

Today there are a lot of young people who think they are incredibly smart and educated, simply because they've attended a university for some time, while actually being utterly useless. Because they fail in both education and general fitness for life.

Nowadays "liberal arts" is nothing more than an excuse to make money with students who then leave university with no education or clue whatsoever.

McDonald's will pretty much hire anyone pending needing the supply of employees. Their employee turn over rate is high though. So they are usually hiring all the time.

I would not suggest getting a job for just 1 month or holiday season. That's a huge waste of your time and everyone else's. If you're 19 you should have already been employed for a few years building references, work ethic, experience/skills etc... Most places are fine with you only being able to work 1 or 2 shifts a week thanks to ObamaCare making healthcare mandatory to anyone who works 40 hours. They will only allow you to work 8-30 hours a week anyways. Which isn't that bad considering there's 168 hours in a week.

I've had a job since I was 15. To this day in my professional career I'm using skills I've learned all the way up that make my life easier.

I would also not suggest working fast food. The work can be tedious, repetitive, and gross. You come home from your shift smelling like fryer grease, and your skin can experience problems like clogged pores from the greasy environment.

I suggest finding a job at a groceries store, or with a park and rec department. McDons is kinda bottom of the barrel work. But it all depends on your own personal interests/work skills and job availability in your area. Maybe Ronnie's Steakhouse is the only thing for you in the area.
