u can’t fight fire with fire dumbass
[–]CeleritySteam9 points10 points11 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You actually can. Literally. That is how large scale firefighting actually works. More directly, this gives them the patriarchy they crave while actually punishing them for their actions and makes the so called adults actually be adults.

What do you mean by prisons of peace? Just curious.
[–]CeleritySteam3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes and furthmore, it dicredits women who have ACTUALLY been raped. Women should be up in arms as well.
[–]throwaway1520384 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes, that's the worst. I feel sorry for the actual victims. I can't imagine why a guy would rape a woman. Makes no sense TBH.
But well, the system will adjust itself slowly, you'll see.
[–]PorkBomber4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I can't imagine why a guy would rape a woman.
For the same reason female teachers rape young boys. People get horny to the point where they cannot control their sexual urges and act upon their urges without other person's consent. Even animals rape each other. People let their hormones get better of their free will.
[–]PorkBomber2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Women should be up in arms as well.
No, they won't. The power to destroy any man's life at their slightest whim is far too greater to care about actual women who got raped. They are like necessary sacrifice for women's superiority. Also, keep in mind that the real number of women who actually get raped is far far less than what many sources (often biased) say.
[–]OnlyOnceThreetimes3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yup. Women dont give a fuck about men when it boils down to it. I got into an argumebt with a group of women who think men should pay for the first date and if they dont, theyd not date him again. Lolsies

And the female RAPIST gets 2 years on probation or something. Did you hear about about that female college student who STABBED a bunch of people but got a light sentence because of her “potential”. Men get punished far worse for the same crimes... but remember, we live in a “PATRIARCHY”!

Should someone be responsible for falsely yelling "FIRE!" in a crowded theater?

Yes, for damages suffered by the theater operator.

Causing false panic is not the same as accusing someone of a crime that rarely has any evidence to support or denounce it.

Shouting fire in a crowded theater
[–]WikiTextBot0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
"Shouting fire in a crowded theater" is a popular metaphor for speech or actions made for the principal purpose of creating unnecessary panic. The phrase is a paraphrasing of Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.'s opinion in the United States Supreme Court case Schenck v. United States in 1919, which held that the defendant's speech in opposition to the draft during World War I was not protected free speech under the First Amendment of the United States Constitution.
The paraphrasing differs from Holmes's original wording in that it typically does not include the word falsely, while also adding the word "crowded" to describe the theatre.

I see now, your first comment was a rhetorical question. So we agree and all. Cheers.
[–]Belrick_NZ-1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
No not really.
With real fire you get evidence. Sound and smoke. A cry of fire doesnt cause much reaction on it's own despite the trope.
With real rape you get no evidence. Not one bit of evidence that isn't out of the ordinary. There is no difference between consensual sex and rape. Hell even bruises happens in rough consensusl sex or dv.
So rape relies on he said she said. All reactions to rape claims are based fundamentally upon heresey. (Which imho is anti justice)
Do in summary. Fakse Cries of rape are 1000x worse than false cries of fire in crowded theatres
[–]iseehot7 points8 points9 points 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
You are assuming a loud cry of fire in a quiet theater is not heard and that people will not immediately seek an exit when presented with a possible threat.
[–]Belrick_NZ1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
The decision to react to the baseless cry let alone the option to panic is purely individualistic.
Not so when heat and smoke are bearing down on you.
There is zero reason to crush stampede panic etc based off a single cry
You can test this. Make such a cry. You will be ignored or told to shutup or asked "where". The shout fire in a theatre is a nonsense strawman

Lol... is it impulsive? The intent is to completely destroy the man. Execution is a light sentence in comparison to the damage done. I would much rather see forced life long restitution payments per month with the threat of jail hanging over their heads if they fail.
[–]ManIsWalking14 points15 points16 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Minimum should automatically be forced to pay legal fees and lost wages, if you can't, go to jail. Debtor's prison, just like how they do with father's who can't pay child support.
Just go get a fucking police report and I'll believe you, it's not that hard.
[–]MrMannheim3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Make them a felon and remove their "right" to vote. They are obviously not responsible enough to vote if they are willing to destroy someone's life over petty reasons.
A man murders his cheating whore wife and he becomes a felon at best and executed at worst.
A woman falsely accuses a man because "lol", detroying his life by making him a "rapist" and a felon; she gets absolutely no punishment whatsoever and is allowed to continue voting.
What a world that we live in.

We should call it "role reversal." So lets say the accused victim was sentenced to 10 years, and this person was found innocent. Obviously we let that person go and give what reparations we can. The accusers should now start from the beginning the sentence which was given.
It can be declared as that the accuser is being charge via "role reversal" for the false accusation of said crime, sentenced for the original punishment of said time. The accuser would basically be serving time as a rapist, but in "role reversal" from the false accusation.
This "role reversal" should not be limited to rape cases. A person falsely accused of any crime should be able to put in a "role reversal" case especially if they can prove their point.
[–]Konsaki4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
False accusations literally cause deaths, as people commit suicide over the social assassination.
[–]syilent132 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]RowdyBusch2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Brightsby0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In a case where it’s just the accuser failing to uphold the burden of proof, yeah. Jail them right away for that shit. However, if the accused can meet proof required to say that it was not only a false claim, but a malignant one, the accuser should face double the jail time of an actual rape case, that shit is unacceptable.
[–]og__h0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
There should be a rule like if you falsely accuse someone of something then you get (1/n)th the time/punishment they would have done/gotten if they were infact the culprits.

Not a lawyer, but depending on where you live, some laws are already on the books. Not sure how far libel or slander goes, but in some places perjury is a felony. I'd think that'd carry a bit of weight on one's record.
[–]SeienShin0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Jail? I believe the word you’re looking for is prison for such a large offense. I was accused of rape just because she got back with her ex and was just saving her face by pretending she didn’t want it, so her ex would be mad at me instead of her. Luckily nobody believed her except for her ex.
[–]mgtow-zen-2 points-1 points0 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I guess thiss one of those areas where being a man helps. My emotions scream "Burn her at the stake!!!" But reason tells me that consequences will disinsentivise them from coming forward.
[–]Ixonia0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That's the only thing that scares me. Someone makes a false claim but then realized they were in the wrong might never come forward if the consequence is prison. That being said, I still like the idea because there should be this fear to begin with. Of course this might mean well connected people send actual victims to prison after a non-proven attack.
[–]mgtow-zen1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, I know what you mean.
But if the system can convict you of something that didn't happen 30 years ago, you really are kind of screwed. DNA can't help you at that point. There is no evidence. And her word is worth more than a man's because she has tears.
Convicting someone of filing a false rape charge at that point seems impossible. Just being able to escape with a clean record would be a win. I wouldn't want to jeapordize that.
But it does suck. I just don't think the fear would be there, especially if a team of female supremacists and victim warriors talked you in to filing the false claim to begin with.
It might indeed take such a woman a bit of time, away from her peers, to even realize she wasn't raped and her feminist friends, if anyone, were the ones who "victimized" her.
Women have all kinds of support, and some would even say pressure, to be victims of rape. Fast way to gain support and acceptance from other women, is to claim you were raped!
In that setting, it's not hard to see where false claims would be made. I'd rather go after the supremacists that put these women up to it, but I don't think he US court system is the place to do that.
