Gender has, rather alarmingly, been subsumed into identity politics. One could as easily say they identify as a leprechaun as much as they do with the opposite sex.

Gender dysphoria is real, hence people removing and remodelling their genitalia, however, the Feminist and identity politics movement have corrupted a genuine issue with their bullshit as usual. As a result, biological sex and gender are no longer synonymous, and we now have a strange divide between the two:

Biological sex: male or female. Tough shit if you don't like it.

"Gender": what you identify as, whether male, female, pixie or super special snowflake.

When did your sex become something you could use or change to construct your ideal identity?

The guy in her class used the word gender to refer to biological sex, and she was offended because gender is synonymous with identity in her mind, and identity can be anything in the world as long as it "feels" right to you, so she started shaking like a fucking retard because she was confronted with fact where she wanted to hear fantasy.

This also scratches the surface of "safe-spaces" and the dilution of higher education in western society, but I think I've ranted enough already and don't want to delve into that in this post.
