You PC bro? You can buy an Xbox controller for your PC. PCs are just better consoles. I'm not knocking consoles. They get great games to people who could not otherwise afford a PC.

That's what I do. You get the best of both worlds in terms of performance/graphics and comfort :).

Will definitely be your cheapest option.

Long time pc user here. I bought myself a ps4 this christmas for 300€ for the heck of it and I absolutely love it. They have sales all the time and you can expect to pay around 30€ for AAA games and even much less if you are willing to wait a few months longer. And you can connect a mouse and keyboard if you want.

What I find most appealing is the simplicity and user interface. You sit on the couch and press a button on the controler and thats all there is. No fiddling around with thousands of grapics options and workarounds in the cfg.ini file in order to make the game run smooth.

People can say all they want but you cant beat the pricepoint.

But the sad thing really is that I would own a nice bmw convertible and a new high end pc now if I didnt spend so much money on mindless entertainment of sluts at nightclubs while getting shitfaced on expensive booze in the last 2-3 years alone. Fuck it at least I finally learned my lesson.

Go PC! Any modern console you buy is just a pile of overpriced Power PC parts anyway - there's no more proprietary 3d cards or core-chips in these consoles that differentiate them from the tower sitting in your home office.

If you like Skyrim, you'll love Skyrim mods. Head over to Nexus Mods and see what you are missing.

Controllers? I use an old PS3 with bluetooth...my buddy uses his original wired XBox and I've another friend who uses Steam's controller - all work on the PC (although my ps3 requires a 'special' driver but if you can use google you can install it). I haven't had to set up a special mapping for a controller since Mass Effect 2 - so unless you're playing games older than that - it'll work right out of the box.

Movies?!? DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT KODI/XBMC/ICEFILMS IS?!?!? Oh man.

Plus emulators, Steam sales, mods...and at the end of the day when you're done with a console you'll still have a frigging computer at your disposal. Can't Photoshop dicks onto someone's forehead on a console!

You have an advantage - you're not a kid who grew up with Nintendo and now everything's Nintendo-colored.

Start at the ground floor with a PC - you won't regret it.

PC if you can afford it. The new console generation was already miles behind PC from the onset. PC will max the hell out of games and play them at 60 FPS. Xbox Windows controller is MANDATORY! The downside to PC is $$$ (though you can build something decent for $700-800, please don't buy a pre-built!!!). I have a PS4 too but mostly for exclusives (Bloodborne, Driveclub, etc.)

As for games, the AC series has triumphantly returned with AC Syndicate (Black Flag isn't terrible but it's not an AC game). If you like RPGs, Witcher 3 is miles ahead of Skyrim (I always felt Bethesda games were piles of unpolished rubbish). Personally I try to play as many action games as possible and move on to other games, and I keep some regular games that require skill (and multiplayer) on rotation (Driveclub, Street Fighter, Call of Duty).

PC gaming has really attracted me. I love mods and simulation games, I cannot afford a top end PC though. Too bad the sims was ruined by EA.

If you already have an adequate PC and isn't looking to play any of the games that are exclusive for any of the consoles, then I agree with the others that buying a controller is the best option.

PS4 all the way. PC's are too much of an investment for the games I play and I'm not going to sink more money into it to upgrade it periodically. I'd rather spend the big bucks on a top of the line new skateboard or upgrade my ride. I like the console exclusive games better too.

PC just doesn't suit my needs and Xbox1 is just a terrible console. PS4 all day for me.

I know a lot of people on here saying PC, but there are some good reasons to get consoles (e.g. local multiplayer). If you want a console, I'd go with the PS4.

You don't need an 8th generation console to play Skyrim or Assassins creed. A 360 or PS3 will do it fine, and they are way cheaper. I like to stay a few years behind the tech curve so I can get games and consoles much cheaper.

You should NOT buy a game console at all. It is an unforgivable time wasting device for time that could be better spent on some form of self improvement. ... Any time spent on self improvement is better than time wasted on gaming.
