I've been volunteering at a Mens homeless shelter/soup kitchen for a year and a half now. I've gotten to know many of the residents there, along with the staff as they all come and go. Bit of side info the homeless shelter also operates a program to help rehabilitate many of the drug addicts/ alcoholics. Anyways what i do there is help on the kitchen and serve the food. Everyone's always very polite, especially the older ones, always saying thank you/god bless that sorta stuff. May i add a good chunk of the residents here are also Veterans.

But then there's the women. Not a day goes by where they dont cause some shit. For example, my first day they asked for a lot of extra food (which were not allowed to give) so once me and my fellow server told them so she dumped her entire plate of food in the trash. They always hold up the line asking for extra food or they're being picky and having me open a whole new box if desserts to get what they want. They're always bumming cigs off men and taking food from their plates/ taking their money, which they do just as often. They're constantly being thrown out for trying to sell drug to the residents or starting fights over some minor BS. I've not had a single woman say thank you for anything EVER while serving there, burgum not surprised anymore.

Just wanted fo post my thoughts, I find it funny how these men make the best of what they got and always are polite as can be, and then the women are just nags who leach off of them.
