So, after one dumb move... they make an even stupider one (at least in terms of the fate of the product*): Gillette was never a "bargain brand" -- in fact the opposite, it was always a "premium" (overpriced) one -- the sales appeal was always it's "image" (which they destroyed in one fell swoop).

* Thing is Gillette sales had already been dropping, over the course of a couple of years (and apparently various efforts to increase sales had all failed)... thus the "SJW" marketing campaign serves as "cover" for a failing brand... and now a major priced drop can be used as "cover/excuse" for major (further) failing sales due to the SJW campaign.

I quit buying their razors. I used to buy their top of the line 5-blade Fusion Cool ProGlide razors. Now I have a very nice handle from Rockwell Razors that I love. I get the platinum-coated blades from Feather Razor Blades for $15 for a pack of 50 of them from Amazon. It's a cleaner, better shave and I'm spending less money. Most importantly I'm no longer supporting company that hates me. 🖕

They saw all the bloggers praising and encouraging their SJW fanbases to purchase shit and assumed that all that social media outrage and praised equaled real investment opportunity dollars ... the thing is though SJW's are the fringe, they are a niche audience .... targeting SJW's is excluding the majority and SJW's don't pay premiums soooo you are targeting a smaller and less financially stable user base .

This is what happens when there is very little original thought in the marketing space , they assume more eyeballs means more dollars and when it comes to selling ads sure that's true ... when it comes to getting people off their ass and into a store ?

Gilette, Battlefield V, Starwars , and I'm sure I'm missing much more . This is what happens when instead of trying to work for your money they chase whatever seems to be the hottest trend and lazily try to cash in on it . Unfortunately that trend rubs THE MAJORITY the wrong way in this instance.

They're cutting prices but where is their apology? They're not sorry. They never gave a flying fuck about gender issues anyway - they are just trying to profit from it and it backfired lol.

The fact they are even able to cut prices by 20% shows you how overpriced they were in the first place. The margins are off the charts. I have no sympathy. I made the decision to boycott them the second I saw that advertisement and I have since bought a Wilkinsons Sword razor and I'm very happy with it.

Fuck you Gillette and all the simps who continue to buy your shit.

I'm glad Gillette gave me a reason to switch. Bought Harry's razors and they are much much better and cheaper IMO. No when I buy anything I check to see if it has the P&G logo before putting it in my cart.
