You are MGTOW if You do not marry or cohabitate with someone. There is a difference between dating and a "Long Term Relationship" Casual dating for the hell of it I don't see anything wrong with but that comes down to the individual. That's the whole point of MGTOW^ going your own way and deciding what works and doesn't for you. Personally I have no desire to date as I would rather save my money and be left alone.

I date, and I consider myself MGTOW. I don't think they are incompatible. My rules are: no relationships, no cohabitation, no paying for more than 50% of dates(unless she's under 25, and I'm getting laid on the reg (cuz at that point, it's cheaper than a hooker)), and I NEVER pretend to be something that I'm not for a woman.

From my perspective, some women can cover up their true nature for about 5 or six weeks (although most of my dating only lasts about 3 or 4 sexual encounters before I either end it or just let it drop. This 5 or six week period is ideal for going out, having sex without getting too attached.

That being said, I go for months at a time with no dating sometimes cuz I got real world shit to do....and my stuff ALWAYS takes priority.

The first level simply being 'situational awareness'. As men become more immersed in the philosophy and learn that you have to fight against your own nature and upbringing as well as to see the world for what it is; I find it unlikely that once those men have acquired more red pill knowledge, they will conclude that the best course of action is to pursue women.

For me it's about men prioritizing their own self interests and self improvement, without dependency on women's approval. Relationships shouldn't be pursued as a goal of life, but rather it should be appreciated as an eventuality of life.

for me its no plans or effort to either pursue or commit or date anyone.

If they chase you then fine, but what they win is your friendship with benefits, you sure as hell wont be building a life with them or making any promises or sacrifices on their behalf as a husband or long term partner would.

fuckbuddies is the only thing on the table, and even then its not something one actively pursues or jumps through hoops for.

women in the modern social media age for the most part (more often than not) fail the cost benefit analysis, the risk and likleihood makes it a fools errand.

a bit like playing the lottery, technically its possible to strike it rich but the odds are definitely stacked against you and you would be an idiot if you were thinking it was a realistic prospect and something worth pursuing and spending all your enegry/time and future on.

To me one of the key elements that makes up MGTOW is that we seek internal validation. A corollary of that is that we put ourselves first. A big problem that many MGTOW have had in the past before they woke up was putting the woman first in a relationship. Self-sacrifice comes naturally to men which is a positive quality but it can cause huge problems when applied erroneously in this way.

Many MGTOW will require a period of monk mode after the anger phase in which they work intensely on self-actualization. This will involve gaining increased self-knowledge, self-acceptance, and self-love. From this rises the internal validation. There is then less of a "need" for the love of a woman because we can meet our own needs.

Once this is fully anchored deeply in the self, there is a greater sense of security, and less fear of being hurt by a woman. At this point some MGTOW may decide to date again. Not in the old way, but from a changed perspective. Always putting oneself first, and always ready to walk away if the situation becomes more trouble than it's worth.

Self-actualization can become enjoyable enough that it can become sort of like a hobby. Pushing oneself to grow, testing oneself. If you used to lose yourself in relationships and now you've become much stronger and more centered within your self, you may decide to test yourself in a relationship again. Will I lose myself again? Will I be able to stand up for myself in situations where I didn't in the past? Will I try to impress her, or just laugh at her shit tests? Will I be able to just walk away when it's not benefiting me enough anymore? It can be a litmus test.

Not everyone will, of course. Some will never feel that the juice is worth the squeeze ever again. But I understand why some do. It seems to be fairly common for men who have been MGTOW for many years return to casual dating at some point. So many of the old-timers making content on YouTube do. Barbarosa, Coltaine, HuMAN, etc.

personally i don't date anymore but am awre of many mgtows that do , and don't really see how one would affect the other ,I think turning mgtow into a religion , where there is one rule for everyone and whoever breaks it is out , is just wrong , like some people wrote beneath it's all about figuring out what suits you the best

I date but I won't get serious, won't cohabitate, and will never remarry. I'm just looking for some fun companionship with no strings attached. I'm honest about all that with anyone I date. I space out my time with anyone to avoid emotional attachment. I won't invest a lot of money into dating either.

I like the company of women (the sane ones). I like sharing ideas and experiences. I also still like sex.

I have the best luck with women who have been divorced and are fed up with the complications of relationships, or are financially well off and don't want to risk their hard earned money with a relationship. They seem to understand me the most. Also, since open marriages and hotwives have become a thing, I've had luck with them as well. These dating scenarios allow me to get the good parts of dating without distracting me from my goals of investing in myself and my kids' futures.

See I have given up even banging random chicks because of the sperm trap. Can’t get past it in my head and don’t trust women so it is what it is. That and false allegations keep me up at night because I see dudes all around me in a world of shit because they thought it wouldn’t and couldn’t happen to them

Some (including in this subreddit) would suggest it's the ability to be intimate with women that defines whether someone is MGTOW or not.

I think there's scope for MGTOWs to date, provided he's careful about whom he dates.

Correct me if I’m wrong but it does stand for “going your own way” does it not? So I’ll do what I damned well please regardless of what other men, women or whatever else has been added to that list thinks.

I date occasionally but I’m rarely in the country for more than a few weeks at a time and only about 3 months of the year,

have no interest in cohabitation ever again with anyone else given how hard it is to evict people regardless of their gender,

marriage is 200% off the table because why would I given my lifestyle? I’d just be giving someone a tonne of my cash to spend with no oversight and it’d screw up my tax status, I can do what I want, when I want and with who I want.

I see a lot of people purely hating on women in subs like this and whilst I understand some of it (eg red pill rage) I’ll never get the parts that come across as purely bitter and jealous. By maintaining that mindset the same women they have a problem with retain control over them.

I have a couple of close female friends who have a similar mindset to mine, ie we’re friends because they provide me with value and I provide them with value. So long as there’s mutual benefit to be had I see no reason to cut women out of my life 100%.
