I've posted a few times. Been at this for 4-5 months. Training 5-6 times a week and I've worked my body fat down to the lowest percentage in my 36 years. Legit self confidence now - not just posturing.

Anyway, I've been kicked in the teeth a few times by the veterans on here which is both needed and appreciated. I'm growing and getting better.

I planned a night out tonight with a client and buddy of mine. Just a few beers and bullshitting. Wife was on notice of this days in advance and didn't give me any shit about it.

Well this morning wife wakes up for early fitness class she teaches (part time) and didn't do any of the tasks previously delegated and agreed upon (dressing kids for school and making their lunch). So I had to do it all and take them to school. I again reiterated what I expect of her on such days and she said ok. No big deal. Reinforcing my plan for the family.

Fast forward to when I get home from work. She's complaining about the meal plan for the week. Let me give some context on this "meal plan." This is a mistake I made which I didn't fully realize until this afternoon. I'm still learning, as it were.

Weeks back I delegated grocery shopping to the wife. She suggested we make a grocery list, which means she wants me to make the grocery list. So I make the grocery list - in hindsight first mistake. Over the course of the next few weeks the grocery list evolves to a meal plan, which changes to a meal plan subdivided by food groups - all of which I'm authoring. So this week l prepared the meal plan with recipes for each day. I PRINTED THE MOTHERFUCKERS OUT.

Back to this afternoon. She doesn't understand the recipes because they don't have titles and she's not sure which groceries go with which foods. I tell her, this recipe involves a whole chicken - so you cook the whole chicken. She didn't like that and asked for "help" while raising her voice and, literally, stomping one foot. So I tell her she's an adult and can figure it out and I'm going to make a fire for the kids.

She follows me to the room with voice raised demanding that I talk and "use words." As I'm making the fire I say to her that I'm not going to engage in conversation while she's talking to me that way (she's freaking out at this point). I get up to leave the room and as I'm in the foyer I get, "well you just go have your beers with your friend and get the fuck out." I immediately turn around and calmly say "don't ever speak to me like that again." As I enter the garage I hear all manner of bullshit screaming which I ignore. She gets in the car and leaves the house.

I feel an inner peace. I'm a bit amused at all of this over a few recipes. In the past I would have been upset and would've texted an apology. Not this time.

So I cook dinner for the kids and we have a nice time while wife is upstairs after returning home, in the tub pouting.

I meet my buddy for beers and we have a good time. I haven't spoken to the wife since returning home. I plan to tell her tomorrow to not ever tell me to "get the fuck out" of my own house.

I'm not upset. I'm not concerned as to what she's feeling right now. IDGAF.
