Just hold frame. Ignore it. If she says you're an asshole, you say "yes". If she says she doesn't like how you're behaving, say "you don't have to like it".

It seems all of us have to go through a phase where she really pushes it hard, how she doesn't like how you're acting.

I think of it as the alpha graduation exam.

Initially when you begin making changes she's like "hmm my beta is a bit sexier" and the shit tests doesn't change much. Eventually she gets to the point where she goes "ok, he might actually be an alpha - better make sure he's the real deal" and out comes all the accusations, calling you an asshole, whatever. It's the graduation exam, she's trying to find out if you're really fuckable. Hold frame and pass it and there's copious amounts of sex and reduced shit tests in the future. Don't go back, don't chicken out and blame it on some book or internet strangers, don't explain, don't excuse. Just hold frame, A&A, ignore, whatever is needed. Just don't step into her frame and begin acting like that it matters what she thinks about you.

As to what her friends say: fuck that. If you lift and lead she'll soon be happy that she's not stuck with some beta chump like all the other wives.

Ooooh...controlling and abusive for a man to actually get to decide who comes in his house and even more so for a man to stand up for himself.

However, I would definitely pause for a moment to consider why your First Officer and her friends think you are "abusive." Most likely you are moving to quickly on your MAP and need to slow down if this is the reaction you are getting.

For comparison, none of my wife's friends ever thought what I was doing was "abusive" not ever. How is getting in shape, lifting weights, standing up for yourself (and for your family) and fucking your wife into a creamy pile of goo abusive? How can the mightiest hamster on the planet see that as abusive and controlling?
