So my take on the other responses would be to say "So we are in an open relationship now? Curious way to ask, but OK."

My immediate response would have been "are you fucking kidding me!?" but I know that is wrong. Then my next thought would be "how does this dude think he can even ask wife on a date and NOT expect severe ramifications?" But this too is giving a fuck. Tough dilemma.

She wasn't interested in the other guy.
She was still interested in you.

First of all jealousy is insecurity and is always bad and never sexually attractive.

If you weren't married, you'd just have let her go and broken up with her some days/weeks after because you don't want to be with someone who goes on dates with other people just to gouge your reaction.

Unfortunately you are married though, so what you could have done is say "sure, whatever" and then make plans to go on a date with a woman you know. If you can't do that say you catch up with an old childhood friend and go somewhere on your own.

whether it's cute or not has more to do with how a woman feels about you than your actual behavior. how she reacts to a situation is indicative or her feelings towards you, not your actions. the only reason she thought your jealousy was cute is because she liked you -- if she didn't like you, she'd hamster out a different response. welcome to the hamster.

Women want to be guarded. They want to feel like the prize. Small displays of mate guarding are not necessarily unattractive to her - quite the opposite. They validate that you view her as the prize.

You are operating from her frame, reacting to what she says, then worrying about how she interprets it. That is the problem. She essentially did "Amused Mastery" to you, and you fell for it. Once you establish your frame as dominant, she will line up.

The problem is not jealousy, but that you are operating completely from her frame, so when you request her to stop flirting with a guy, instead of she feeling the dread that you will slip away, instead, she feels strong that she can play with your emotions, so she toys with you more to reveal you aren't alpha enough for her, and in that, you are actually encouraging her to branch swing.
