Wow 2 hours. A few comments:

JP and life is sacrifice: I cannot quite get a feel of what JP thinks about suffering and sacrifice. It seems from what you guys were discussing that he is in the boat that you need to suffer for suffering's sake, like the self flagellating monks. It could also be the case that the message is simply being taken wrong and the real message, which is what I believe, is that in order to advance in life, you're going to suffer. No pain no gain. So suffering is not good for the sake of suffering. Whipping yourself to feel pain will not bring you closer to your goal. But in most cases, suffering and learning the hard way are simply a part of advancing in life. So if you find yourself striving for a goal and suffering, take heart that the suffering is "good" because it's required to advance.

Order and Chaos: I understand Carlos' interpretation of societal order vs chaos. When I listen to JP I interpret his order and chaos argument on an individual level. It has a lot to do with the way you decide to execute your life, your frame, your ideas, your boundaries. Those things are the order (one of many possible orders you could construct out of the infinite possibilities that is chaos) that you have formed out of the chaos. This idea harps back to the video I posted a few months ago that had Jordan talking to a 2 year old about picking up his teddy bear...whenever you attempt to influence someone else (wife, gf, whatever), you're trying to throw that part of their life into the chaos and have them order it again in a way you approve of. Like wrecking their stack of blocks and saying “that's wrong, do it again”. And by attacking their high level entire self, you're pushing against a concrete wall because you're attempting to say their entire structure is bad and they should throw their entire self into chaos.

On JBP as "The Guy": There's a difference between being a guy on MRP and getting your own shit together, knowing that the world is operating according to a blue pill agenda and trying to become the best version of yourself here; and a guy like Jordan Peterson who has has his ideas of dynamics and is actively taking on the proponents of the blue pill brainwashing system in an effort to scale back the brainwashing that men receive. This difference between what you think and what someone who is speaking to your ideas but against the public is similar to what you see in politics where if you vote for someone, there's an idea that you must certainly "agree" with every single talking point that person has. And that's just not so. JP is just one guy. And while you personally may or may not agree with some of his points, he's out there doing more good than not by pushing back on the BP agenda. So your choice to get behind him shouldn't really be based on if you agree with everything he says, but just that he's doing something. No one is going to be “The Guy” who agrees with everything you agree with, and disagrees with everything you don't.

Rollo comment that men seeking fault in themselves first is part of the family dominance hierarchy in that women make the choices, men take the blame: There's two sides of this coin. If you're fucking up...if you have a set of presumptions as a man, a set of presumptions we see a lot of guys come into MRP with where they just cannot comprehend that what their doing doesn't work, then yes the solution is to look within first and figure out if you're wrong. If what you're doing doesn't logically get the result you want and it's your fault. But if you are taking fault FOR someone else, if you're taking fault in order to sacrifice (sacrificing for sacrificing's sake) or to get brownie points, then yes this is wrong.

Carlos, conditioning, and promises: He made a good point that the tactic of the blue pill and hypergamy is to condition men with positive rewards (be good to women and they will fall for you one day and you'll have a happy family) and negative punishments (if you don't man up then you are a waste and we will shame you). At the same time if you use the same tactics of positive reward (time, attention, etc for sex, submissiveness, ) and negative punishments (doing your own thing, removing attention affection, etc for being a bitch and giving hard nos) then you are "bad". It's just a common reaction to someone whose not doing something you want...you must be bad and what you're doing must be wrong. It's a fallacy because a big part of swallowing the pill leads you to realize that your wife isn't "bad" for giving a hard no, that's her choice. But it's also your choice to remove time and attention. The main problem with this reality is that “bad” is framed in our society as a moralistic democratic idea...in that even if everyone has their choice, that if a majority of people group together and say “that's bad” then you are coerced into that idea unless you develop the backbone to either fight back, or live with the consequences that society tries to impose.

What would happen if JP's wife left him: I don't really think any discussion on this topic has merit. Basically because it hasn't happened. Any input anyone gives on what they think would happen to Peterson is simply their projection of what kind of person they think Peterson is onto him. The fact that a 2 hour discussion was just had because we really don't know what kind of person he is, because he's never come out and said "this is the end result if you follow me" (which he'll likely never say, because he's not a prophet, from what I can see he doesn't think he's a prophet, he's just a guy throwing his ideas out there and fighting sometimes for what he believes). So if his wife leaves him, everyone is going to think "what does this mean? Was he right? Was he wrong?" and this kind of mixes in with what you talked about earlier where if something goes "wrong" you look inward first to see if it's your fault. Who's to say his wife leaving is wrong? Who's to say he didn't do everything "right", especially when he's his own judge and only he knows if this event was right or wrong for him. People will certainly said “look his wife left him...he must be wrong.” but those who come to that conclusion are blind to the infinite conditions and dynamics that could have lead to that results. Those who come to that conclusion also bias their thinking by saying that staying with a wife is the “right” outcome.

On a side not I was just listening to a talk with Jack Donovan how men of today have no outlets. (Men's YMCA, Lodge groups, guys shooting the shit, etc.) This is the closest I got and Im taking it.)

i listened to almost all of it. it was entertaining and enlightening. i liked Carls description of the blue pill a lot. very accurate and true to the Matrix analogy. my only beef was i think Anthony needs to work on this moderation skills. not enough steering back into the topic at hand: JP.

i don't know if i am just not adequately connected to the youth of the nation; or if the manosphere gets its "lost boys" crisis from sperg heavy sampling . . . but i just don't see it.

granted i live in merika and my son is a top 10% young man; i don't see the FI keeping the boys down. not at all. never heard of any keeping the boys down shit in school . . . zero. as far as i can see; boys are encouraged to be just as aggressive as they always wore. none of these boys i know are worried about being too masculine because their focused on scoring goals and banging Sally hot pants.

to the extent there is a crisis; it boils down to being lazy and not embracing the suck and in particular failure. i haven't listened to enough JP to know if it's just semantics; but embracing sacrifice and suffering as an end to itself i guaranteed to get you cucked by everyone. on the other hand; personal achievement and to some degree character comes from pushing oneself or being pushed outside of your comfort zone and failing which often causes suffering until you fail enough to learn dissapointment and suffering are not the same thing. the problem with boys is they are not allowed to fail and instead are coddled.
