First, I don't see a lot of talk about this on MRP, but I'm sure there are some of you that have read Rollo's Your Friend Menstruation essay. If not, it's required reading before the rest of this post.

Long story short, I started keeping track of my woman's cycle over the last 6 months or so. Noted on my calendar when she began her period, walk out 4-5 days, and then split up the remaining time until her next period into two separate parts: Alpha behavior, and Beta behavior. I have a simple Outlook reminder for all these events.

During the "Alpha behavior" phase (the first week or two after she ends her period), I have had a lot of success. This will mean something different for everyone, but being cocky, nice-aggressive, and having a caveman attitude toward getting her in the bed has been extremely successful. Slapping her on the ass, giving a friendly tug of her ponytail when I walk by, etc...these things generally have success any time you do them, but I have noticed a very good response during the Alpha behavior period - you know, wry smiles from her, googly eyes, etc...

The "Beta behavior" phase is a little more tricky, as for me, you still can't go full-on Beta, but some more empathy seems to work here. Maybe grab some flowers on the way home, fix a squeaky door, whatever works in your relationship. I still try to maintain my overall frame, but this seems to be the time for "Beta game".

I know this is nothing revolutionary and has been written about before, I just wanted to share an actual success story. I was surprised at how well this seems to work. Anyone else?
