I just wanted an honest opinion. There was no reason to delete the post. Sigh. I guess we're on our own. I think neither gender should be forced into a situation they don't want to be in. But, if forced, both genders should participate equally.

Equality is a Bitch

Equality is a Bitch

Well, bitches "wanted equality." No good whining about it now.

[–]bamftonio 57 points58 points59 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I mean it's a taste of what majority of men go through. Still sucks though. Doesn't matter who's paying. That shit sucks.

[–]The_Best_01 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm sure it sucks for average people, but for a rich bitch like her? Maybe from her perspective.

[–]bamftonio 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I get this is "men's rights" and all but there's no need to refer her as a "bitch" without any reason.

Doesn't matter if someone is rich or poor. Sucks regardless.

[–]The_Best_01 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't like her general self-righteous attitude, typical of celebs. Plus it rhymes.

It sucks far less for the rich.

[–]JohnDoethan 46 points47 points48 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She'll write a song about how she was cheating all along and make millions more "empowering women".

Shakinmyhead cuz it's true.

[–]tiredfromlife2019 17 points18 points19 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Notice how child support is now bad to the feminist cause its going to a man. But if it went to a woman, its right and proper.

[–]DubsPackage 38 points39 points40 points 6 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

If 10 million more women get jacked, have their children confiscated and thrown in jail, it would only make things fair.

But watch, the minute it's women experiencing this, suddenly their "blood is bOiLinG," it hasn't been boiling the last 100 years that it's been men getting fucked in the ass.

Suddenly 1 woman loses some money and they all lose their shit.

We are still far, far away from justice, the other shoe has not even /begun/ to drop, it's not women suffering en mass the way they've caused men to suffer, I'm not seeing them get robbed and abused every day the way they caused us to be robbed and abused.

The feminist equivalent for men does not yet exist, MRA is a pale shadow of egalitarianism, the great awakening has not yet happened, most men are still asleep or deeply blue-pilled, they think if some woman pays $200 a month then it's all even-steven.

[–]Kensin 17 points18 points19 points 6 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

If 10 million more women get jacked, have their children confiscated and thrown in jail, it would only make things fair.

No, that might make it equal but it certainly wouldn't make it fair. You can't make an injustice fair by equally distributing it among more people. Men have been fucked over for a long time in divorces, but none of us should be hoping for women to be fucked over just as badly. That isn't fair, it's just vengeance and that's not productive. I'd much rather fix the system so that it is fair and nobody is getting fucked over by it

[–]DubsPackage 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Such high-minded ideals come when 1 woman loses some money.

They are curiously absent when million men lose their life.

[–]Kensin 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Well, this particular high minded ideal is one of mine and I'm subscribed here so it's not entirely absent when the issue impacts men either. I'd bet most that people here share that ideal no matter who is being screwed over by the legal system.

Hell, I'd guess most people in general would want the system improved for everyone vs simply unfairly destroying the lives of everyone equally. Assuming they were aware of the issue at all anyway. A lot of people don't understand how abusive the family court system is because they've never had to deal with it or don't know someone who has.

Hopefully a high profile case like this helps to raise some awareness. It's a tragedy that it happened, but it's also a great opportunity for us to start that discussion with others especially because in this case it happened to a women and women are more likely to be ignorant of the problem and this case avoids some of the bias they might have.

[–]DubsPackage 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Ok but it's no tragedy when it happens to women.

They pushed for these laws, so it's only ironic when they get run over by their own truck.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

[–]Kensin 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Ok but it's no tragedy when it happens to women. What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

It's a tragedy when it happens to anyone. They might have originally planted the minefield, but it's not helping us or anyone else to cheer when one of them occasionally falls on a mine.

Yes, there's a degree of irony when someone shoots themself in the foot, but we can point and laugh at them while we all bleed out together or we can reach out and help them understand why the situation they created needs to be changed so that it never happens to anyone again.

[–]DubsPackage 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

As long as gynocentric laws remain in place, women must share in the pain of them.

They don't get to just watch us bleed and laugh anymore.

[–]The_Best_01 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agreed, but maybe women suffering will change them. But there's no reason we can't point and laugh in the meantime.

[–]neverXmiss 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If this happens more, this will become a wake up call. It sucks either way, but some things need to happen in order for change to occur.

[–]poopoofoopoo 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

THIS

i just hope the feminist side can think about this and reciprocate

[–]Kensin 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I honestly think many would, at least those who are more egalitarian in their beliefs. A lot of people who identify as feminists care more about what feminism falsely claims to be than what it actually is. I think it's a loud and politically active minority that would actually prefer to see men suffer while the masses (who aren't especially interested in politics) just think "of course I support women and want equality so that means I'm a feminist!"

[–]poopoofoopoo 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

i agree but i do see a lot of actual feminists distance themselves from the movement precisely because of a certain group of radfems that does not adhere to logic. so an increasingly large percentage of "feminists" are the ones trying to pull off a revenge plot on ALL ZE EVIL MEEEN

[–]Kensin 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's true. I'm glad it's not the popular movement it used to be, but they somehow still manage to hold onto the false image they market to women. I think the older generations especially are full of egalitarians who've spent too long defining themselves with the label of feminist to feel the need to reevaluate what that actually means. Some of them could be brought around.

[–]The_Best_01 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's why they said "a step towards equality". And I sure hope the feminist equivalent for men will never exist, because that would mean male privilege instead of true equality. Feministm is not equality.

[–]The_Great_Sarcasmo 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

the last 100 years that it's been men getting fucked in the ass.

To be fair prior to that women had very little rights in this regard. If your husband left you you were up shit creek. The pendulum might have swing too far the other way but we shouldn't forget that there was a time when single mothers didn't get any support at all.

They were very much getting fucked in the ass.

[–]DubsPackage 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Man didn't burden women with pregnancy, nature did. Nor did man keep women dependent on man, hell they are still dependent, only socialized thru various schemes to be independent.

Cucked anglo countries enable "wOmeNs iNdEpeNdenCe" by oppressing their own men and treating them like garbage so that women can waste their lives working in corporations to make the %1 richer.

[–]The_Great_Sarcasmo 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Personally I don't think there's anything wrong with the ideal that parents should look after children so there's nothing inherently wrong with the idea of child support even though it might not exist in "nature".

[–]DubsPackage 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In nature, women are dependent on men and have to follow their rules to provide for the offspring. "Society" then flips this to make women the boss using laws and police.

Women are oppressed by nature. Men are oppressed by society.

[–]submit3r 15 points16 points17 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Honestly this is fucked up. He should get maybe 2 mill. That’s plenty. At worst half. But he didn’t do anything to make that money.

I have the same view for women, if the wife didn’t directly contribute to a mans wealth she is not entitled to half.

[–]Zappaa1142 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There needs to be a solid cap on these divorce settlements for rich people. Anything over a million dollars is just ridiculous. You shouldn't get a free pass for life to not work cause you married someone rich. Man or woman.

[–]Kensin 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just cap it at a certain percentage for everyone rich or poor so that people can be cared for without screwing the other too badly.

[–]potato_reborn 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What kind of dumbass rich person doesn't get a prenup though. I feel like this is self inflicted.

[–]Demost_Amazing 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lmao good for him

[–]Egalitarianwhistle 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Wait till he hears about Bezos.

[–]purplepeoplefirefly 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

His wife was working with him side by side when Amazon started in the garage. She's worked for her half.

[–]syg111 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is a lie and you know it.

[–]Ironwarrior29 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No she didn't

[–]PM_ME_SCIENCE_PICS 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

While I appreciate the "equality" in this ruling it's still 100% ridiculous.

I like how equality is in quotation marks. Their site is a joke.

Also, that's disappointing.

[–]NotherThrowaway284 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Heheheheheheheheheh.

[+]TiberiusClegane1 points 6 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Wait... what? Why is he getting almost three quarters of her money? How is that relevant to equality? Man OR woman, that's just fucked up.

[–]poopoofoopoo 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

This amount is 50% of her earnings throughout the relationship. Which is the legal amount men are also required to pay.

Also she sold the property in the UK and gave him ownership of the LA property.

This is another reason for the cash increase; he wants to continue running the charity he runs from the UK, she likes LA nightlife. So the property is useless to him and he now needs to replace the property that she sold.

[–]Bigboycoc 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This just sounds a little absurd but good for him ig

[–]Slaaneshels 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The thing is, most people suspect she tried to hide assets, as judges basically never give more than half to the partner unless the other partner tried to hide something, so this seems like she hid assets, it pissed the judge off and he decided she deserves to lose most of her wealth. That or he hates her awful music.

[–]ElectraUnderTheSea 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I doubt Adele is worth "only" 190m, I find it a bit low considering how much her records have sold and how much her songs are still played

[–]DontNeedMuchMoney 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How is this fair? Male or female - 140 million/190 million? For what

[–]chogawin 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I love how the comments on the tweet are like "king shit"

[–]dazmo 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Itt: the fucking spirit of garbage ass feminism. We're not trying to reverse the pendulum folks were trying to sever the rope!

[–]Dunkolunko -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

That's ridiculous. I get the point about "just desserts" women using divorce to get money they never earned yada yada, but seriously? 2/3 of her net worth? In what universe does that make ANY kind of sense? A massive injustice.

[–]tiredfromlife2019 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Meh, its the courts. For me, I love this, the courts have drained many men into poverty to give women all the money. Now its women's turn.

[–]Dunkolunko 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Sorry but unless Adele herself has been advocating for this kind of divorce system I don't consider it satisfying to see innocent people abused by the legal system, male or female. That kind of thinking is what gets us "women have been discriminated against in the past, now it's men's turn" kind of logic.

[–]Smitty1017 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well I'm more of the opinion that once it starts affecting women more then it might actually get looked at.

[–]The_Best_01 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's exactly what I think.

[–]tiredfromlife2019 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I hope you were this outraged when men were getting destroyed by the courts and all their money drained.

As for the woman in the OP? She likely didn't even think about child support and its affects on men. Its a thing that affects men and something men need to do otherwise they are lower then dirt.

And another reason why this is a good thing is cause society cares about women , not men. Thousands of men can be driven into poverty or suicide by child support payments or whatever and nobody bats an eye. But when women are affected, society feels as if the sky is falling.

This is something women have done to themselves, the more they force men to have no jobs and keep jobs for themselves, the more they will lose money.

[–]poopoofoopoo 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
