We feel so benefited from bad men wanting war, especially those who are drafted and sent to die, isn’t it guys?

They are such morons with comments like that…

[–]AnySmoke2016 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I Just reply bs, some people live in Lala land and don't want see reality, what is literaly as It is arround then

[–]Punder_man 26 points27 points28 points 1 year ago (14 children) | Copy Link

And all women benefit from the actions of good men, the men who build roads, cars and other infrastructure they use on a daily basis..
But there's zero acknowledgement of that...

Nah, lets instead hyper fixate on the 'Bad' men who ultimately make up a minority of all men..

Sounds logical to me /s

[+]Character_Display945 -1 points0 points1 point 1 year ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Question- don’t lots of people - regardless of gender have jobs that benefit society and they get paid for? I never understand this talking point and would appreciate if you can break it down for me? Like what does that have to do with dating?

[–]Punder_man 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (10 children) | Copy Link

You are correct to an extent..
The point i'm making here is that when it comes to the heavy lifting jobs in society like constructing roads, building homes, infrastructure, sewage maintenance etc..
Those jobs are mostly done by men.

How does this relate to dating?

Well it goes like this:

You have the small minority of men who are bad who sexually harass, rape and sexually assault women..
But the majority of men are not like that.
They are hyper fixating on the ultimately small minority of "bad" men that they ignore / can not see the "good" men in front of them.

Not only that but in today's society.. Men are expected to be mind readers, able to pick up on the smallest of "Tells" and "Body language" given off by women and respond appropriately.
Women keep saying they don't want men harassing them yet they still expect men to make the first move and ask them out on dates (and to pay for the dates of course)

If men ignore women like they ask.. then we are "Misogynists" and "Incels"
If men make the first move they need to instantly respond to the smallest body language that says "I'm not interested" otherwise they are considered a "Creep" or "Rapist"

How do men win in this situation?

[+]Character_Display945 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (9 children) | Copy Link

I am only going to speak from my perspective to answer your question and not a larger scale.

If you are interested in dating, I would put yourself in dating spaces - apps, meet ups, dating services, etc. Essentially places where you know the women are at least open to a connection of some type- even if it’s not with you. From my perspective, turning a regular interaction into a sexual or romantic interaction when I’m just trying to live my life is “creepy” as you say.

I’m still not following how someone choosing a job in construction (which is my profession) makes them a good or bad partner, if they helped work on a road or built a house. I mean it’s good to have a job that contributes to society, but I’m just not understanding the correlation you are making. Help me understand?

The last piece of information I can share that will hopefully help make it make sense from a women’s perspective- is the small amount of men. I have came across many men in my life, even ones in positions of trust, who behaved inappropriately to varying degrees, so while I would agree it’s not all men who are murderers or grapists, I think many women still find that a good number of men they deal with throughout their life who behave in a way that makes them uncomfortable, whether it be from unwanted advances, or worse.

I want to be clear, I am not advocating for any kind of hate or mistreatment, I just think sometimes men underestimate the amount of inappropriate coaches, teaches, counselors, bosses, neighbors and other people in the community that women come across.

Hope my advice helps, and sticking to dating forums may help improve your odds!

[–]Punder_man 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I understand the perspective of women..
But as a man who has NEVER done any of those things and WOULD never do any of those things its completely demoralizing not to mention frustrating being lumped in with all the "Bad" men because its easier to assume i'm a potential rapist than treat me like an individual..

Not only that but there is a MASSIVE double standard (many actually) in regards to this.
I understand women have had these experiences and due to that are cautious, I don't have a problem with that..
But when you have women saying "I had a bad experience with men and so you should be cautious too" that is what we call fearmongering..

Not only that but when a woman says she's cautious because of her experiences she is called "Brave" or "Empowered"
But I as a man who has been the victim of violence at the hands of women am NOT allowed to say "Due to my experiences with women I am cautious around women because I don't know which ones will hurt me"

If i so much as DARE speak any of that out in public I will be bombarded and told "Women have it worse!" and "How fucking disgusting! you can't treat all women the same because of a few bad eggs!"

The irony here is, its exactly what they do to men..

And I for one am tired of the double standards.

[+]Character_Display945 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I am really sorry you experienced violence, no one deserves that. And you should tell your story, we need more men to come forward and end those stigmas.

You are definitely allowed to be cautious around anyone who doesn’t make you feel safe, including women, and I am so sorry you were made to feel otherwise. This is a big thing we as a society need to work on, ending the shame of victims so more people can tell their stories.

I think no one should use their story to justify or dismiss other people’s story and I do see that happen from time to time, so I’m not sure if that’s what you are referring too, but all violence is wrong and underserved.

[–]Punder_man 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

But that's the problem.. as a society men like me who come forward to share our stories of abuse are ignored or told to shut up if the gender of our abuser is not also a man.
If a man isn't responsible for the violence we suffered, they don't want to hear about it.

That's the double standard..

It should be different but i'm 36 years old and I know that the world isn't going to change anytime soon
So now I have the issue of, due to the violence I suffered I struggle getting close to women / letting my walls / defenses down because I don't want to be hurt again..
But if I don't approach women then that is construed as me being an incel or misogynist..

So in our society I can not win in either scenario..
And until there's a massive cultural shift acknowledging this fact.. I simply refuse to play the game at all..

[+]Character_Display945 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There are lots of people who care, I definitely do, so keep sharing your story! Would you like me to send you some men friendly support groups for violence survivors?

Not dating does not make you an incel or misogynist. It’s okay to take time to heal. I hope you get the help you need, please let me know if you need resources, I do a lot of dv work, for both genders and I am happy to help get you support!

[–]HipsterNgariman 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I'm not the guy you replied from, but I thought I'd try to add perspective ; - This sub isn't really about dating. It is often discussed, as it's often the first step into male and female dynamics, but the inequalities are wider than just that (topics like suicide and homelessness are mainstream here), and in fact, dating starts to become the last of our worry, when we're talking about mass safety issues, like being drafted to war etc. - Trades are the most important jobs there are. Of course, we can agree to disagree, but in my opinion, if there were no bank traders, art majors, HR departments and psychotherapists tomorrow, the world would go around fine. But if there were no electricians, plumbers, and also no doctors and car mechanics, we'd be in trouble. Some of these professions are male-dominates and it is what it is. You work in trades and that's great, I'm not pretending we need everyone to work in trades, but it'd be a shame if there weren't enough per capita. - Not all men are evil, or most men are a little evil, those statements are just not resonating to us. We're individuals. I couldn't care less, if some guy someone used to know, had a predatory behavior. For your own safety, it's good to assume we are not angels, but please don't say that out loud ? If I told you, let's pretend, all the women I know are hypergamous money-driven narcissists, your first reaction would be "Yeah but I'm not...these" and you'd also be right to not have to prove anything to me either. You should be confident in who you are, because you know you treat people with respect. And if someone tries to attack you by describing the people of your gender, you should tell them to piss off.

[+]Character_Display945 -1 points0 points1 point 1 year ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I love a lot of what you said here. I agree we need to end the draft, and honestly we really need to rethink our military approach all together but that may be a bigger discussion.

Do you feel like people are advocating against the trades? My question is where is this talking point coming from? I feel like I am missing the connection? Has there been some movement I missed against construction or building infrastructure? That’s more what I am asking about. I usually hear it brought up in conversation about dating or when women say they are trying to avoid dating, that’s why I assumed it was a dating thing.

I don’t think the spread of hate is good, but I do think it’s okay to educate people on how to have healthy boundaries to prevent being a victim. And actually I think you bring up a good point of how men also can benefit from education on how to avoid being taken advantage of in relationships too, and how to have healthy reciprocal relationships. I personally have heard a lot of talking points in women spaces about how damaging benevolent sexism is for women and letting go of old gender norms like he pays, for a more 50/50 relationships and I think these topics help spread awareness all the way around.

To quick summarize- Overall I mostly agree with the only caveat is I think we (men and women) need to talk about these things more often, not less.

[–]HipsterNgariman 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's a pet-peeve of mine, the argument that men should be better educated about their own violence towards women (or to similar issues in relationships, not necessarily physical but also gender roles etc). The men that got educated are the ones that never needed it. As Bill Burr said in his "there's no reason to hit a woman" bit, there was never a guy in the middle of beating the teeth out of his wife's mouth, seeing the ad on TV against domestic violence and thought "oh crap I'm not supposed to do that ? I'm so sorry hun!!!". I am a little sick of taking the blame of the other mens actions when I'm KHHV anyway. It's a lot on our shoulders. I'm not saying that against you by the way, it's just..something that triggers me a little every time I read that all men are X or Y. I automatically register it as 'my fault, then'.

Haven't got much to add on the other talking points. I don't want to waffle about why I find that people rush to the university to get useless degrees, it's just not very insightful.

[+]Character_Display945 -1 points0 points1 point 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

To clarify, I didn’t mean to educate the abusers out of violence- the education is for others to prevent the violence, and it’s not just education about that topic but making conversations about reciprocal relationships- for both men and women - more common talking points to end unhelpful norms, like he pays, or that men don’t experience DV, or that women are the “primary parent”- the more these things are discussed and normalized, the better we all are.

Does that make more sense?

[–]HipsterNgariman 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh no, you are right about that. There are many misconceptions about men and women. Expectations and preferences, sometimes unrealistic. Boundaries and bars to set.

I sometimes browse facebook, and see these very controversial posts with many reactions. Something about someone trans, or ugly, or weird clothes. It's always the same ; men are shitting on the guy, women are shitting on the men for being judgemental. We are truly shooting rocks at each other from our islands.

Men and women, need to understand that we function vastly differently [on average], and there is no need to have a war over something that's easy to understand. Women are human beings and men are human doings. In these FB posts, the women feel the need to express their affinity with someone that found solace in their new pronouns and elevated their self. Men feel the need to express that these characteristics hold no value to them, and are in fact a complete waste of time, as they are judged (and judge themselves) on what they can build financially and materialistically, and the pursuit of the 'being' is complete bullshit, often you'll hear.

This is just one nugget of wisdom I've acquired with the years, that brings me peace in the understanding of men & women. I understand why we do what we do both, a little better now than I used to.

have you ever seen a woman construction worker? Because I havent

[+]Character_Display945 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nice to meet you! I am a woman in construction. I went self employed 3 years ago and though currently I do have 2 men who I have recently hired (I don’t discriminate), for a good portion of those 3 years- I had all female crews- even several of my trade subs are women- including a master electrician.

So for me personally, yes. And clients love it, it’s great for business. We get the majority of our business from word of mouth referrals. Last year we replaced 7 roofs on the same street within a 2 month period.

[–]CompetitiveOffer5339 15 points16 points17 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lovely to know that those male child soldiers are benefiting from the leaders making them do that.

[–]roomthree04 11 points12 points13 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Ah, the generalizations. Just had an argument with a woman on the r/ugly sub who claims ugly men are lucky because a lot of attractive women date ugly men WHO MAKE LESS than them. Whatever fantasy world she's created in her retarded mind, I want to live in THAT world. lol.

[–]devilish_zimi 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I usually see people say "women aren't shallow because they'll date men like this" and then it's Ed Sheeran. You know, the rich and famous singer/songwriter. I've never seen anyone point to some homeless dude, lol

[–]Kingbookser -1 points0 points1 point 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess she thinks she was attracted and didn't get chad, so chad has to prefer ugly women, therefore women prefer ugly men

Idk it doesn't make any sense

Projection

[–]No_Leather3994 5 points6 points7 points 1 year ago (4 children) | Copy Link

No one benefits from the actions of a bad person. I might be missing context but what makes her think men supposedly benefit from other mens bad actions?

[–]EntertainerFlat7465 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She doesn't think that she just lies

[+]Character_Display945 -1 points0 points1 point 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I can add clarity to this one. The idea is that men cite “being a protector “ as a responsibility in the relationship, which means they often contribute less effort on a daily basis to the relationship in terms of things like making dinner, cleaning the kitchen, laundry, etc, in favor of tasks like mowing the lawn weekly during some seasons, but the reason men can have that claim of “being a protector “ is because women may need protecting from the bad men. But if the bad men who would hurt them were removed from society, then men couldn’t use the “being a protector” tagline as a responsibility, and women may be less likely to cook and clean for him if they felt safer on their own.

That’s the idea at least.

[–]CarHungry 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is like how a 7 year old thinks relationships work. Women statistically get attacked by someone they are dating far more than strangers, but I think it's just because there's no honor in attacking random women, they have to "disrespect" you first, usually intimately.

The idea that women are forced to date men to not be harmed by randos is a total fantasy.

[–]Character_Display945 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Right, we need to end the protector rhetoric all together

[–]Drakin5 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

Remember kids, the use of association fallacy should benefit women or against men.

/s

[–]devilish_zimi 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hmm, haven't heard of the association fallacy until now. I just looked it up, will be using this to debunk things from now on. People use that shit a lot.

I watched a video earlier today from ShoeOnHead, who (according to online activists) is actually a far right neo-nazi conservative pick me girl who's pretending to be a leftist (for what reason, who knows), all because she kinda just makes jokes about feminists and isn't a misandrist. Which is apparently are traits shared by nazis, therefore she must be one, right?

Like damn, you can dislike her, but calling someone a nazi for basically nothing is insane. People have called the people in this sub every one of those buzzwords too, lol.

[–]_Name__Unknown_ 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How do I benefit from bad men? Just the other day my car got stolen how do I benefit from that? Misogynistic feminist are the worst.

I personally don't think it's their fault though if you see a snake would be scared of it or not ? Despite not knowing wheter this snake is poisonous or not you will try something if it's invading your space. Just put yourself in place of snake and woman in your place.

Why don’t people understand that we all are human beings and that means every single one of us are different. Is it really that hard to comprehend?
