So i have never heard of this sub till now so I'm just gonna post this here, its a bit biased seen as this is a mens rights subreddit but idk where else to post this to.
I want to get your opinions as to whether i did wrong or not.
To cut a long story short, i got in a fight with my two sisters over their bathroom.
Both my sisters are younger than me (13 and 15) and I'm 17. I had to use there bathroom but they got really mad as they always do. But we got in a big fight. One of them (lets call them Erin) was hitting me with this laundry basket and the other (lets call Lottie) was kicking and punching me.
Note: I never hit my sisters, but like a dog, if they are quite seriously hurting me, i will give a kick or punch (not a lot of force) to kind of warn them.
Im calling my mom to stop this but all she is doing is shouting the words stop from downstairs. Anyway, lottie was kicking me quite hard and i was trapped against the door of my moms room, i took all the kicks and every now and then did the warning kick thing but it was harmless to her. She must of kicked me about 12 times above the knee and it was getting more violent, with a few flailing punches in there, so i decided to try and catch her foot to stop the kicking. I missed her foot a few times. But then caught it after about 5 attempts, unfortunately I'm quite tall so as i grab the leg, i stand up properly and she flys back straight onto her back. I was amazed by the strength at the time but now i realise it was just the height difference. She bursts into tears and is screaming. For a minute i thought i had broken her back or something, but then Erin rages and smacks me a couple of times with the laundry basket. My mom comes running upstairs once she hears my sister screaming, (yet doesn't come up when I'm yelling at her to stop my sisters fighting me?) I am told to go into my room.
About half an hour later the ordeal is over, lottie had minor bruises her shoulder but that was it. When i go to get a glass of water, my mom flips at me, she fully was threatening to throw me out and call the police, but i said i did it in self defence, she was hearing none of it. Somehow she believes that because a girl who is 4 years younger and smaller, she can still hit me, yet i have to stand there and take it 'like a man'. But she was hurting me. I didn't hit her in any way with a force that would hurt her. And the catching of the foot had no malcontent yet instead was to stop her kicking me. My mom is stubborn as hell and wont accept the fact that i did it in defence and it was not meant to happen like that. She also said that i should have ran or told her. I couldn't run through them and i did shout out to my mom but she did nothing.
Anyway what are your opinions? I know i sound like a bit of a pussy but i didn't want to hurt my sisters or worsen the situation...

your family is being insanely shitty to you. you arent being a pussy. you were wronged and venting is important. im hoping for you that as the adrenaline fades apologies or at least ashamed silence will follow. if not... well:
keep in mind women are told alllll the time not to be out too late or go to sketchy neighborhoods and to be afraid of men. and then we get all this shit where just sometimes theres just a gut reaction to be scared of men. we occasionally just get it and have to shake it off.
so theres a fair chance they just got that emotion. as irrational as even they might know but cant shake. maybe even the "dear god did i raise a monster" Flash of thought. my PeRsonal advice: play meek, 'quiet giant, horrified by his own strength'. distance yourself from the Scary Men Who Yell Back and Attack ://
people calm Themselves down if they can speak their mind/rant. no matter how right you are, for some reason if you just shut up/dissociate wildly, it kinda works. give 'em quiet -i know that was bad, im sorry, is-she-okay-did-she-hit-her-head/fake genuine concerns, whatever. hopefully that way itll blow itself over quickly. you cant win against emotion even if they later realize theyre wrong.
just taking it hurts too so take a bubble bath, set some shit on fire, vent, accept a bad few days and itll be over soon. youre the good one here & im sorry. good luck <3 -(but thats just me)
