What precisely was the danger in allowing two adults to live their lives as they saw fit within the boundaries of the law ?

Firstly , we're talking about a dance instructor . This is not a high school teacher or a high school student . What leverage does a dance instructor have to use as coercion ? Had the student been fifty then presumably the instructor would have been fired anyway ... right ? What exactly do children have to do with any of this ?

This Sergi character should be fired or sell her stake in the company if she's married , has a boyfriend , or has had sex at any time during her time at her position . It suggests , after all , that she has somehow endangered some kid somewhere , somehow . Nobody has any clue at all how two consenting adults engaging in a relationship where one doesn't necessarily have any power over the other hurts children but , uh , whatever I guess .

Why use common sense when you can seize an opportunity to be an idiot and everybody will agree because they're afraid to call you the idiot you're being ?

Teacher-student relationships are frowned upon, because they're seen as abusing a position/relationship of trust.

The article also explicitly points out that he was found not to have had relationships with minors.

I'm not really seeing a problem here.

It's entirely possible that Sergei said "protect the kids" as offhand for "protect the students." Students are often equated to kids.
