Does circumcision actually do much to prevent infections and diseases enough for it to actually be warranted?

As for old men, that would mostly be homeless bums or guys so fucking old they literally can't clean themselves (and would probably prefer to be dead already).

Yeah, prettymuch all the so-called benefits of circumcision could be applied to labiaplasty, but that is still illegal to perform on a child for non-medical emergency reasons.

Infections are treated with appropriate antibiotics and care. Not by preemptively amputating an otherwise healthy body part that may get infected as the patient is nearing the end of their natural lifespan (where the body as a whole will be deteriorating)

I've heard these stories from nursing homes before. Sounds more like they need to not let the senior citizens their be sitting in their own feces so long that their genitals become infected.

The answer is simply no it is not warranted.

There are numerous nations that don’t circumcise without any adverse health outcomes. They are living proof it is unnecessary as a preventative measure of anything.

There are hundreds of thousands of cases of appendicitis reported every year. If it isn't tended to promptly its very dangerous(deadly?). But I've never heard of anyone having their appendix removed "just in case"...!

I can't say it doesn't have medical benefits; but I don't think all of that pain of a permanent non-reversible procedure that removes functional tissue is worth it. Theres literally more benefits to cutting off male breast tissue at birth.

For sexually transmitted infections just to mention MGM is ludicrous as nobody should have unprotected sex with people who have STDs. Let's just think about this stuff using generic numbers here: if your chance of contracting HIV or whatever while having unprotected sex with an infected person is 50%, but if you're circumcized it's "only" 45%, does it actually protect you? Heck no. It might provide idiots with a false sense of security though, actually increasing their chances of getting infected because they might be more willing to have unprotected sex in general. (It doesn't matter what the real numbers are, the principle is the same as long as it's not zero percent for circumcized men, which it certainly isn't.)

For non-STD problems, wash your dick and you'll be fine. Removing parts of the body so you don't have to wash them sounds positively insane. Even if MGM provides some medical benefit in this regard it's still lunacy. Well, there are lunatics out there so for them I say: no supposed medical benefit warrants doing the procedure to infants, it only ever should be done to consenting adults.

Some data suggests that circumcised men have lower risk of spreading STD’s while not using condoms, but because condoms and circumcision both reduce sensitivity, men who are circumcised don’t use condoms as often, which more than counteracts the benefit of using condoms.

TL;DR: condoms work better than circumcision, and people don’t want to use both.

My personal suspicion is that uncut men enjoy sex more (more nerve endings) so have more sex. More sex = more potential incidences of STD and injury.
