In some areas, absolutely. Being seen as a leader is one. There is also a real component to the "pay gap". It is in the 2-4% range and feminists would rather push propaganda than discuss it. The thing is short men are similarly underpaid, so it looks like a height issue rather than a sex issue there too.

Hey I'm a short man too 5'5" and also not good looking. I had to work on my self esteem and confidence a lot in my early twenties to be able to feel comfortable around people. People are going to be mean (men and women), just try not to be bitter and drown in your insecurity. The discremination is real and everywhere but don't acknowledge it. Because if you do, you'd hear people telling you about Napoleon complex.

There are some nice women out there who may care about height and will still want to be with you if you are confident and have moderately successful career.

Kind of. Social media has influenced some women into thinking it’s essential that they end up with a man who is six feet or taller. In reality though most women will be happy just with a man who is taller than them. If you are a witty fun confident guy that is short it is sometimes more attractive than in guys who are tall, they probably won’t notice that you are short. Being shorter can be a disadvantage for sure.

It depends on how you look at it. In the realm of dating, short height is uniquely a male problem since only women have extremely strong requirements for their partner's height.

Outside of dating, I would say that short height is equally problematic for both sexes, e.g. lower perceived assertiveness

I haven't been in years but I used to sometimes go to pick up soccer games on weekends. The guys generally chosen first were around 5'6, wirery, fast and never got tired. None would play pro but they were running circles around the rest of us, including the taller guys. With respect to leadership on the job, I've seen short guys do well. Yes there are some people who gravitate to the taller guys but there are others who want someone who can do the work and not just look a certain way.

I would say the body shaming of shorter men is a men's health issue. You are not less than because of your height. Someone being above 6' doesn't make them more worthy of a relationship than you either.

Last thing I'll say is that if you have kids you should be conscious of their diet. Unless you have a genetic condition, what you feed them, stress...will have a huge impact on their height.

Women are less sexually attracted to short men. This isn't a social issue, it's biology. What is a social issue is the public gaslighting that men get regarding women's attraction.

However, the fact of the matter is that women are extremely vain, status-climbing and superficial, and given hypergamy, even more vain, status-climbing and superficial than men, speaking purely at a biological visceral attraction level. But because the reality is bad PR for women, short men face the double penalty of being ignored by women, and then told the reason is their own fault.

The psychology today articles on men's loneliness are clear examples of this misandry. Claiming that men will be less lonely, and get more attention from women, if they learned to better emotionally communicate. When obviously such a statement is horseshit, men will only be less lonely and get more attention from women if they grew taller and got a lot of instagram follows. Of course the logical conclusion, if you neither want to get lots of instagram followers, nor can you grow taller, is to go MGTOW. But doing that is called "mysogyny"

Yes, given even its female analogues (narrow hips) isn't a deal breaker for many men. Attraction to short guys is perceived as a dysfunctional kink like attraction to obese girls, but the latter is correlated with the image of health issues, while the former is correlated with the image of the woman having to step in to the household protection.

Yes. Especially in the workplace. I’m taken less seriously by female coworkers than my taller male coworkers. It’s very frustrating. I am also a 20 M so naturally I’m not at the same place in life as them as they are almost all mid 30’s, yet unlike them I have a degree in the field while they do not. I know I get paid more than them but the feeling of being treated as less serious of a worker due to my height 5’4 1/2 is infuriating.

The discrimination is real. And the lack of acknowledgement from feminists is also very real. just go to any post regarding short height or small penis in a sub with a mostly feminist population and you'll find them recommend overcompensation and "just be a man" instead of recognizing the shitty attitudes towards these things.

Being a short man is a personal failing, imo. Likely correlates with being lazy in childhood, not eating well and training and stretching during formative years, lack of interest in athletics and competition. I have little sympathy for short men in that regard. Nothing against them, they just need to recognize their place in the world and take responsibility.
