Father’s Day has always been not as big as Mother’s Day which is sad. A good father does so much for their family and should deserve the same amount of love and respect mothers get on Mother’s Day. If not more.

At Church on Mother’s Day I always hear about how amazing Mothers are… At Church on Fathers Day, we get a lecture from the pulpit about how men should be better fathers.
My wife and daughters always ask what I want for Fathers Day, then my wife asks for money to go get it.

After 17 years together, my wife and I have declared Mother’s Day and Father’s Day our annual review. If the present sucks it’s a bad review. These are the two commercial holidays we celebrate. We don’t do jack for Valentine’s Day or many of the other card days.

I'm looking forward to it. Planning a day out for lunch with my two daughters, then maybe check out the latest Spiderverse movie in the theatre, then home for pizza and video games.

I’ll be fully honest, I was a shit for a kid. I treated both my parents like garbage when I was young, and I resent that because I now appreciate them more than ever. And a lot of this subs’ gripes (how fathers are treated poorly by family/wives) ring true to me.

However (and this is a tradition I want to carry on) we always did celebrate Fathers Day with some special family activities and a meal (paid for by Dad of course). I don’t think it’s the cost that’s an issue though, it’s fun celebratory activities as a family. I really like that and want it for my own family.

I’m really sorry for being a dirtbag growing up and I’ve tried to be better. Hopefully one day I can be a wonderful father and teach my children the right values and morals, including treating men and women with equal respect and dignity.
