Feeling incredibly guilty

Of course you shouldn't feel guilty. You should recognize this as propaganda. Why should you feel guilty for something that someone else did just because you are the same race or gender as them?

Perhaps someone needs to tell your school that this is not appropriate as it can interfere with the self-esteem of white male students. You may want to ask your parent or doctor to get in touch with the administration.

Do not ever feel bad for being the way you are. I'm a white male as well, and I know some ass hat on here is gunna completely out my views in this, but hey, let's roll the dice.

We, as a group are a majority in this country . And because white males , we are shown as evil bad men, and therefore have to pay for the sins of our fathers, so to speak. I've never held ownership of slaves, persecuted women or done anything of hate towards any demographic or minority. I've been dealing with racism (or reverse racism ,if that is a term you use. I don't. ) my entire life. Not like the woe is me I have had it so bad kind of stuff, more like an over correction of things. As a society we see minorities as a weak group, and want to help them out. Not to say these groups don't need help. But because of that it always seems to go against males. Esp white males.

1 example was last year on my FAFSA , I was completely denied for everything. Not one thing dime. I also saw my other white male students (In a stereotypical male field of study, may be 4 females in a class of 25 or 30) and all of them have also been denied. But both my sister's and my half black brother have all received goggles of funding.

File a Title VI and Title IX complaint. This is something that more people need to do. What they're doing is likely illegal and discriminatory. It'll likely take a court and fines to stop this kind of thing out.

If you feel this way, it is likely that there are others. You are likely one of the few talking about it.

Perhaps talk to some other people and try to see if others feel this way. If a large group does, perhaps stage a walkout during the next lecture.

Make sure to talk to the young women and minorities as well. I don't mean to make you feel worse, but society generally cares more for them in this era we that are going through.

Try to alert the media if you know one of these is coming up and you have people agreeing to the walkout. Getting attention on this will help prevent things like this from happening to more students like you.

If you don't feel comfortable organizing it all, you can just feel people out until another decides to take the lead. You will have done your part. Of course, if you decide not to do this, I completely understand. This will not be easy.

It's just propaganda and it would be unacceptable if it was directed at any other group. It's natural to feel uncomfortable when faced with racism and sexism like this.

The US is also a unique place in the western world, with slavery being abolished very late in the day only after a civil war. But guess what, around the west it was white men who stood against slavery, who championed a process that led to global abolishment of legal slavery. So after millennia of legal slavery of every race by every other race, white people got involved and a couple of hundred years later it stopped.

Re white violence, it was just 'lucky' that white people got a technological jump. Warfare and tribal conflict was/is a ubiquitous part of life on this planet. Europeans just had better technology and better organisation. At that specific time.

Look at the Sino-Japanese wars and Japan with a technological boost in the run up to WWII. Much further back the dynastic warfare in China while white civilisation wasn't even a blip on the map. It's obvious to thinking humans that white men are being blamed for general human traits and for being lucky/industrious with technology and organisation in a very specific window of history.

Our planet has a violent past and I'd be willing to bet that the majority of these people voted for Clinton, who was pivotal in the destruction of Libya and who was going to enter into a stand off with a nuclear superpower. They are blinkered idiots.

You need to focus on you. Ignore what they say, study hard and think about the future. Plan your university study based on your career goals.

You have as much right to succeed and find happiness in the world as anyone else. Black, White, Indian, Asian. Everybody has the same right to educational and personal success.

You have nothing to feel guilty about. You are not responsible for other people's mistakes or crimes. (Although guilt is an understandable reaction to what they are doing to you, which is present a very biased and made up idea.)

Sounds a bit like survivor guilt. That's where survivors of tragedies feel guilty for surviving. It's associated with PTSD.

The fact that they are, at the least, not considering that you may feel this way, is pretty negligent on their part.

I understand the feeling of guilt. I suggest you get it for two principal reasons:

1) You're still young. It takes quite some time to work out the mechanisms by which others are able to manipulate your conscience (I'm much older than you are and I'm still learning). It's much more difficult to figure out when much of your waking life is spent in - and working under - an institution that is held as a place of learning and authority.

2) It's entirely correct and reasonable to question the principles of the lecturing you're subject to. There is, however, a risk inherent in voicing your objections, no matter how reasonable they might be: you will be marked down in your work or otherwise negatively affected. Depending on your circumstances (you know these better than anyone here), it may be more beneficial to keep toeing the line and regurgitating what the syllabus expects of you just to get your qualifications and get out of there. NB I am not saying to forego your objections to the crap that's being forced down your gullet - in fact, keeping quiet might help you sharpen your instincts and hone your mind.

3) Read up on things like logical fallacies and how they operate - once you've learned how to spot them, it becomes much easier to either challenge them or shrug your opponents off. One prime candidate in your case (presumed white male guilt) is the Kafka Trap - see Wendy McElroy's article as a good example.

4) Following on from the above, you are responsible for your actions. You are not responsible for the actions of anyone else, let alone those of people you've never met and consequently you bear no blame, let alone guilt.

TL;DR - if your gut instinct is that you're being guilt-tripped for no good reason, you're probably right. But gauge how you react carefully.

There is no Reason for you to Feel Guilty over anything.

White people did nothing wrong. They Political Left just like to harp on them because they are the most successful group in history(Subjectively).

They had the most recent large Expansion(Colonization) and it was the most peaceful and most negotiated expansion in history. Europeans kept a history of everything they did and wrote it down...that is why people hate them. There are record and can easily prove who(At least country or group) did what.

No one ever talks about the Bantu Expansion from Sub Sarahan Africa Southward. Nothing comes out about the Wars, Rape, and Slaughter of Native Peoples to the areas they expanded into. The Bantu wiped out entire peoples in their expansion. They are not native to South Africa but are also Immigrants.

An no one talks about the Islamic Colonization and Wars into Europe like they do the White Colonization. Most of the Iberian Peninsula of what is now Spain and Morocco were invade of Muslims in the Middle East and conquered for many many years before being pushed out.

Slavery did not start with White Europeans...but they are the ones who Put a stop to it within their lands. The British enact the Slave Trade Act of 1807 which abolished it in the British Empire. They even had a squadron patrolling the West Coast of Africa on the look out for renegade slave traders.

There has been a huge push to Demonize European History and Colonization. People only ever want to bring up the Negative about it, not all the good it brought to the world.

If that's what's really going on at your assemblies you should complain to somebody.
