I don't get why people seem to think this is cool and cause for high fives. Do you not remember your state of mind when you were 13-15 years old? Or do you just not get laid much ever and sort of try to live your fantasies vicariously through others.

I had a few grown women ask me if I "would like to fuck them" when I was that age. It weirded me out.

I don't think she should go to prison. I don't think 25 year old men that have sex with 16 year old girls should go to prison, either.

I am concerned that her name is withheld. I can only assume that they withhold everybodies name. If they don't, then that is disturbing.

I going to have to disagree with most of you; I find the sentence fitting. I know that MR is founded on the principle that we are all human and have the same basic needs and concerns, but we must acknowledge physiological differences. I cannot imagine how a 16 year old boy can be "raped" by a 25 year old woman.

Furthermore, while I can't speak for anyone else, at 16 I was willing to nail anything with a vagina, as were most of my friends. It's the consequence of being the gender that produces countless numbers of "cheap" disposable gametes and makes no further biological investment after copulation. While I can't say what age the age of consent should be for females, IMHO, for a male should be 15-16.

Unless the kid was coerced or forced somehow, the only real misdeed was abusing her position as a teacher. The act is most certainly not the same as a powerful adult man holding down a physically weak 16 year old girl and forcing himself on/in her.
