I care about the problems of men. I care that the patriarchy tells men that they have to be stoic beasts incapable of emotion. I care that the patriarchy tells men that they are lust-filled monsters incapable of controlling their own libidos. I care that the patriarchy tells men that they cannot be raped or assaulted because the patriarchy believes women are too weak and inferior to be dangerous. Feminists did not do this to you, other men did.

I love this shit, because it's just one more example of feminism taking away all agency - and by virtue of that, responsibility - from women.

Really? "The Patriarchy" did all this? It was men reinforcing that men need to be strong, silent, emotionless providers who have all their shit together, etc? Because last time I checked, the way men are expected to behave correlates bizarrely with the exact traits that women have historically found desirable in mates. It's almost as if women and their preferences in a partner played an important role in shaping the social norms of masculinity.

But no, all women's problems are the fault of men, and all men's problems are the fault of men. That's feminism.

You know who's telling women that they have no power? Feminism. What tells women that they are weak and perpetually victims? Feminism. What tells women that only men can solve their problems for them? Feminism. Look to your own shit, feminists.

I think feminists have been reading The Art of War. Hit the enemy where they have little defense. Make little to no direct assault. Gain the trust of the common people. Make sure you are the saving grace for the majority.

Well duh. Patriarchy theory holds that masculinity is valued more highly than femininity by society, and this means that those with masculine traits (especially men) are privileged, and this is the root of many of society's ills, and the reason women are oppressed. Academic feminists of the second and third waves have made no attempt to cover this up, as it's the central idea in their philosophy of gender.

This is why many feminists talk about things like "toxic masculinity".

Now sure, I don't agree with patriarchy theory. But it's not some big revelation. You're just telling us what any gender-studies professor or feminist philosophy graduate could tell us.

I don't think masculinity is the actual target. Masculine men are attractive to women and that is what is being attacked. Feminism is just another form of sexual competition, slightly more petty than others. The most sexually attractive girls get the most masculine men and gain status from that. Feminists want the status so they attack masculinity.

That is also why it can never work. Masculinity will remain as long as women find it attractive and feminists aren't even telling women to change their choices. They are trying to tell men to be less attractive.

I think a way to see this is to look at traits which are both "masculine", and looked down on by society. For example, anything related to being a nerd. Feminists hate nerds more than anything! They never say anything about society treating them badly, and mostly just call them entitled and misogynist. ("nerd" has gotten so watered down as to be practically meaningless now, but I think you can just look at people who fit the non-watered-down version and see what I'm talking about).

Another example is being stoic/not talking much about emotions. I think general society is more or less neutral on this trait. Mostly feminists call this being emotionally stunted or illiterate.

Finally, for all the talk about sex-positivity, to the extent wanting to have sex without attachment is seen as a "masculine" trait, feminists are against it too (see all the hand-wringing about "hookup culture" which basically amounts to this), or at least trending in that direction.

If feminists cared about men, they would want to help men who are unfairly maligned for exhibiting disfavored "masculine" traits. Instead, they join society in disliking those traits. Shows what their real goal is.

Sideways. Feminisms target is not "masculinity" per say, ask about abolishing alimony or child support and you will see them come screaming to the defence of male providor role.

What feminism attacks is male autonimy, physical, mental, and emotional. This is why they demand men express emotions while denying emotional violence against men. This is why they talk about bodily autonimy for women but refuse to discuss autonimy for men. This is why they talk about a "zero sum" so much, to them, it is. One person can be autonomous only by reducing the other to a slave.

And that is the point, not the destruction of some abstraction, but the reduction of an entire gender to chattle.
