men can get screened for STD's, receive counseling, get free or reduced priced contraceptives, and have free screening for prostate cancer at PP. although the majority of people that go to planned parenthood are women (as women are the ones that have to deal with pregnancy and it's consequence more than guys); Planned Parenthood is NOT a "woman's clinic" lets just get that straight first.

Women need to take responsibility and "cough up the dough", huh? You know what the best part about having an abortion is? Getting a receipt. Having to drain your savings account. Working overtime at your job to pay for it. You honest to god think that women are fully covered for abortions? Most of the time they're not, hell no...the average has a copay of at least $200-400...and a woman is usually lucky if the father will pay for even half of that, because you know, TWO people are involved with having an 'accident' and taking responsibility last time i checked...though, usually, it's just the woman that ends up taking responsibility, whichever way she chooses...so, i guess that's why women want abortion rights.

You wanna focus more on the finances of it though, so lets do that. The amount that has come out of our tax dollars to pay for the war in Iraq & Afghanistan over the course of a month, is probably more than the amount of tax money that has been put into PP over the past 25 years, to put it in perspective...And this isn't a war that we are talking about. This is about health! So that unwanted children aren't born to single mothers who will then need welfare (which also gets to "come out of the tax dollars" anyway). So that a rape victim doesn't have to go through the emotional trauma of delivering her rapists baby (because as compassionite citizens i think it should be our duty to first believe women when they are raped and not just accuse her of lying). And, so that men and women can be tested for HIV, so that female and male teenagers can get free sex counseling when they are too afraid to talk to their parents, so that 40,000 women can prevent cervical cancer, and 10,000 men can prevent prostate cancer every year. You wonder why women (and many men) are upset claiming that Republicans are attacking their health? It's because they are.

Normally, I'd stand up for anything that increases responsibilities as a parent for women, but the Republican idea that cutting funding to abortion screams of distraction.

Crying abortion wastes money in an irresponsible way is like complaining about the cat pissing on a rug when the entire house is on fire.

And considering the republican track record of trying to outlaw abortion, I don't think it's that far out of the scope to say that they're specifically trying to revoke abortion rights and the ability to obtain affordable abortions by taking federal money from a stand-alone.

I think the reason feminists cry 'attack' is because Planned Parenthood is a woman's wellness clinic that encompasses more than just abortion planning. It also encompasses health screens for them as well as cost-adjusted contraceptives.

Upvote, because I have balls. But mostly because I think it's worth talking about to some degree.

Maybe women who make false rape accusations, in addition to going to prison, should have to pay fines which could then be used to fund abortions for women who really have been raped. Anyone trying to defraud the system by making false claims would be taking the risk of ending up paying into it.
