Something that’s been happening me (38M) regularly over the last year or two is being ghosted by women, pretty much straight out of the blue. Some of whom I’d known for months or years and thought I was close to. This is new to me. It seems to be a totally socially acceptable thing to do nowadays? Each time I’m left feeling pretty down about it. It takes 30 secs to send a text to say “sorry, I don’t want to stay in touch”, or “I’d rather not have you in my life, best of luck”. Ghosting shows the other person has zero respect for you and that basically you’re as disposable as a gum wrapper. Are men now not worthy of a simple explanation never mind a conversation?
