The Middle Ages lasted from 500-1500, and while some witch hunts are indeed documented from the early Middle Ages, what is usually referred to when we talk about witch hunts (the ones you referring to, with 60 000 victims) started in the late Middle Ages around 1450, but the peak of these were between the years 1550 and 1650, which are considered part of the early modern period.

The last legal witch execution took place in 1782 against Anna Göldi. To put this in context, the end of the early modern period is largely equated with the French Revolution, which started just seven years later in 1789.

The Colosseum was built in 80AD, and the very last record of fights there was in 435AD. In order to kill even 300,000, you'd need to kill more than two and a quarter men EVERY SINGLE DAY for three and a half centuries. Given an average lethality rate of about 9%, you'd need fifty matches a day.

This is above and beyond your assertion that it was "for the very special erotic pleasure of women". There's no reason to think sexual sadism didn't exist back then, but the idea that it was widespread enough that it could be cited as a major factor (especially given much power and authority Roman women had) is ridiculous.
