This is a good sign, and there have been a lot more statements than these recognizing anti-male bias and discrimination. People won’t fix a problem until they admit there is a problem, and there’s growing awareness now.

The defeatist attitude that nothing will ever change doesn’t help any of us, and it disregards the successes that others have had when standing up to injustice. Instead, we need to keep calling out misandry and keep reminding the people in power that they need to do better in promoting equal rights for men—with real action, not just words.

The ones who do can get more of our votes and business. The ones who don’t shouldn’t be rewarded.

EDIT: You can also use official quotes to bolster your activism and outreach: “The governor said X, what are you doing to support X?” “The senator said we should do Y, so why are you doing Z?”

I’d like to think this will result in governments addressing discrimination against men, but sadly I think that’s wishful thinking.

I expect that as in the U.S., many politicians and some political parties are realizing that strongly advocating discrimination against men is losing them make voters but most if the attention I see is empty rhetoric.

Relating this to some similar topics in the U.S.

Gavin Newsom recently stated how we need to pay more attention to men’s issues, yet he makes no move to eliminate discriminatory practices he himself has promoted.

Richard Reeves often speaks to how boys are falling behind in education but similarly will not recommend ending the discriminatory practices or even acknowledge the discrimination at play.

Sadly, most of these comments are simply virtue signaling in an attempt to retain make voters without doing anything to actually address the discrimination men face which would of course put such politicians at odds with feminism.

I don't think they're noticing it as much as they're acknowledging that the pothole is now getting to the point where it'll do irreparable damage if it isn't filled.

These issues were nearing or exceeding being a decade old. And it really just says, keep doing it even if we're satisfied, because remaining in a situation where we have enough representation to create change is a position we shouldn't ever surrender...

Makes me wonder if feminism has felt that way, and that's why it remains in the state that it is.

It's worth noting in Australia at least, the majority of those voices are fringe political party representatives, and have very little institutional power.

Any time a major party in Australia does anything remotely approaching men's health, mental health, wellbeing or otherwise, it is almost always pure tokenism.

Dan Repacholi, the "Special Envoy for Men", is a wonderful example of this. It's as if the Labour party looked around the room and said, "ok we need the blokiest looking bloke to pander to all these angry men who are turning against the left, in order to try and bring them back around".

So far, the man has done fuck all other than attend a few Men's Shed BBQs, and to go on TV and repeat the same tired old lines about prostate health and the like - all stuff that we already know. What we NEED is a man of action, and other than smashing down donuts that man is about the least deliberate example of a human being I've seen. Where is his advocacy within the government to bring more funding to mens' health? We just watched the federal government budget zero for mens' health whilst throwing $792bn at women's health. Where is his outrage at the male suicide rate? Why is it the likes of Senator Antic saying these things when it's literally in big Dan's remit?

So, the question is how do we affect real change? It has to be at the ground level. Boys and young men need our guidance. We need to make it clear to them how the world really works, how to see through the buzzwords and narratives of an ever more gynocentric democracy, and to understand that they have more power than they think. We don't need violent men, we need strong men, and we need to be the ones to raise them. The state is doing its absolute best to be the proxy father these boys need, and it is ruining them. The only other alternative at this point is listening to the likes of Andrew Tate, which is no better.

Every man has a responsibility to be the best example they can to young men. Strong but kind. Firm but fair. A warrior in a garden. We need men to stand up, all of us, and say "enough" to the nonsense they keep pushing on us. Don't be the monsters they tell us we are, but don't be the doormat they want either.

Young men are either coming to voting age, or are going to soon. They will be the difference and I've said it many times - if they aren't getting the right message from us, they will get the wrong message from someone else.
