Society sees women as weak and as the victim and society sees men as strong and actively tries to not see him as a victim.

So when a man is victimized, society will try its best to avoid seeing him as the victim. It will ask what he did to deserve what he got. "He must have been killed in self-defense"

But when a woman is victimized, it makes sense that the person who attacked her is guilty because she's weak and fits the role as victim.

Being black also makes society see you as stronger and that makes it harder for them to see a black person as a victim.

To be honest, I'd like to see the numbers on white men as well to judge if this is a gender issue or a race issue.
