That's not really what I meant. Of course White people have specific problems, but so does every other race. Like Black people being disproportionately targeted by the justice system isn't exactly the same as anti-White job quotas.

Supremacists/nationalists/identitarians of every race use this same argument. They try to prove that their race is being singled out, or say that the racism they suffer under is somehow worse than others'. It may or may not be, but that's beside the point. The point is everyone can be discriminated against and it's equally shitty when it happens to anyone.

White complaints do get treated a little bit differently in the West bc in the past, when White people have taken their problems too seriously and organized around them it has lead to the Civil War and WWII which were two of the most devastatingly large losses of life in modern history. The tendency is to just ignore White problems so that they don't lead to something like that again.

While I understand your frustration, I think there may be some misunderstanding. I cannot speak on behalf of every minority, but I would like to share some insight on this situation as an LGBT woman.

I would strongly disagree with your point that society does not support white men. I think instead we are seeing a shift across American culture, especially, that promotes inclusivity. This has changed the way the oppressed interact with media - we are seeing more diversity on the news, in film and television, etc. You are not underappreciated, you are just no longer the center of attention. What you describe, that is, being important only when you are “a benefit to society” has been the case for many minorities for generations. Women, people of color, LGBTQ+ people were hardly represented for decades and if they were, it was often through tokenism. I am not saying it is right for any straight, white man to endure this either but I ask that you really consider if this is what you are experiencing - because I would say it is not.

Minorities are not trying to oppress you, they are trying to stop being oppressed. It is not a personal attack on the fact that you are straight, white and male. If you think it is, I would say you still have a sense of entitlement as an oppressor and that is the underlying issue. Check your privilege.

You’re right, we don’t face the oppression that these other minorities have. It’s awful what society has put them through. But I strongly believe that nowadays it’s considered a virtue to hate young white men, especially those with potential. I’m not an oppressor. If I were as privileged as you think then my life would be amazing, everyone would be in my corner and I’d have societies support. My white friends would also have the same luxuries. But that’s not the case. My sense of entitlement derives from me knowing that I have value as a person. Not because I’m a white man, but because I was given the gift of life. I don’t deserve a target on my back because of what other people have done. Nothing is going to make up for what happened in the past, none of you are ever going to get redemption for any wrongs you’ve experienced. It’s hopeless
