I don’t hate what is considered masculine in itself such as sports, protection or anything like that.

What I hate is the labelling. Labelling these acts as masculine and masculinity being a standard that all men are held to is what I hate.

I don’t hate it in the way feminists do where they claim it just hurts women. It hurts men.

I think it’s a prison and is holding all men back. I think to truly be free, we need to destroy the framework of masculinity.

It leads to things such as people thinking sexual harassment is to do with masculinity. People can just ascribe acts to masculinity and use it as a way to hate and blame men as a whole.

Men are expected to protect, provide and sacrifice which leads to such high male deaths throughout the world. It leads to men only being valued so long as they can provide or sacrifice themselves for the benefit of others (usually women, children and elderly).

I think the concepts of both masculinity/femininity are bad but modern femininity is a lot more freeing than modern masculinity. Modern femininity in the west is empowered and bold, defying boundaries. This is the opposite of masculinity.

I also hate the terms positive and toxic masculinity because all they do is reinforce and redefine masculinity to fit narratives.
