Sadly these kind of ''talks are common in schools throughout the Western world. They do these kind of ''talks'' in a lot of British schools too. It starts with some random rich woman with fancy sounding useless degrees coming in from random made up feminist organisation. She will introduce herself as a strong woman and will be met by claps from all the over zealous feminist teachers.
Then she gets down to business, her talk will be 90% shitting on boys and telling them to back down, don't be too masculine and ambitious, stay silent when girls are talking, don't take achievements and help meant for girls etc. This isn't made up, there is a very famous feminists here in the UK who before Covid hit used to go around giving exactly these type of talks to school boys all around the UK.
The solution is to ignore them, literally don't take a single advice given by them. They don't have your best interests in heart.
To be a modern man now means who shouldn't have to sacrifice your life for others. You don't have to go out of your way to be disposable to women. Our population is plenty enough and neither do we live in the unga bunga cave man days that you need to protect the women in your tribe. That's why we have the Police, Fire Brigade and the Ambulance service, use them if you see someone in trouble. Don't get yourself killed for a stranger and don't try to follow enforced gender roles for men.
You need to look after your mental and physical health first and foremost. This should be your priority and after that its your education/skills. After that is developing good ethics that go along with being a man living in the 21st Century. Basic things like telling the truth, not letting anger control your life, learning to ignore hateful people, standing up for yourself, standing up for justice is just many of the few morals that we should try and live by.

Probably best to ignore what they say. Best advice you could probably take on is learn to recognise this stuff so you know what to ignore. Understand the arguments behind it and get though school in such a way it doesn't mess up your life.

Hi, I am of similar age to you as well, and I totally understand your view.

Firstly, i would tell you to never ever tell anyone your age, if you do, rather than receiving support and more leniancy, you will instead be mocked for it, this is especially true in politics.

Secondly, yes, this is a pretty common phenomenon, and it's terrifying to say the least, however, there are two different ways to interpret the sudden rise in misandry

A cultural shift in power, this is straightforward, one group uses emotions to manipulate public opinion, and eventually gaining enough power to become the status quo.
This whole feminism movement is a blowoff valve for steam, people have always been discontent, and throughout history, power has shifted from the upper class to the middle class(new upper class) with the help of the lower class, the middle class uses its influence to concentrate all hate, all frustratiion, all misfortune onto a particular group, be it men, Jews, blacks, women, immigrants etc, all in the name of power.

But a easy way to neutralise this, is to give puppet positions to these leaders, this way you disarm the angry mob of manipulated people.

I personally believe it's a combination of both.

Anyway I hope you understand what I mean

As much as SancruaryMoon is kind of a jerk he's right. A friend once told me there's value in being able to go to sleep at night and know you're not a n asshole, even if the rest of the world is. Just focus on being a good person and developing healthy masculinity. Don't get bitter and disillusioned because that speaker didn't talk about empowering young men. Men are empowered. If you don't feel that then this is your cue now. You don't need to be afraid of marginalized groups trying to find a voice. They are your brothers and sisters. Take care of them. You are empowered. True masculinity is using your power to care for the people around you. All of them. Be kind. Be generous. Be gentle. Be patient. That is what it means to be a man.
