Not if passed with the Hayden Rider, which basically says that the ERA only applies to areas where men are advantaged. Advantages for women would survive the ERA. I'm not even kidding, that was made a part of the ERA. Literally "everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others."

The problem is that men dont have national organizations full of lawyers ready to sue for every little thing. That's how the womens movement won. They used the courts. It was feminist groups and conservative Christian womens groups that undermined and ultimately defeated the ERA because they realized it would remove their special protections.

Under Title IX, schools supposedly can’t discriminate on the basis of sex, yet they often allow discrimination in favor of females under various arguments, or it’s simply not enforced when women are advantaged.

We have a number of laws that discriminate against men including AA, WEEA, women owned business advantages, VAWA, etc, all of which would violate the ERA if passed but I’d be willing to bet good money, it wouldn’t be equally enforced and laws discriminating against men would continue.

Most states already have equal protections in their constitutions already. The 14th amendment of the US constitution has an equal protectionsclause as well.

Phyllis Schlafly certainly thought it would make several female privileges unconstitutional, which it would do.

Now, just because something is declared unconstitutional doesn't meant it's removed immediately, or even at all.

As long as powerful feminist influences like the National Organization for Women exert control over the interpretation of constitutional law and the creation of federal and state law and policy, no amendment, no matter how it's worded, will protect men and boys against discrimination. It will always be interpreted to be applicable only to increase women's and girls' rights, and men's and boys' responsibilities. If law and policy aren't informed by feminism, then a new constitutional amendment will not be needed to do what the 14th amendment already does.
