In a case dubbed "Britain's worst ever miscarriage of justice", Stefan Kiszko spent SIXTEEN YEARS in prison after being wrongfully convicted of a sexually motivated murder. The police arrested him after FOUR teenage girls LIED that he'd exposed himself to them and was a stalker.

There were many failures in this case, and the police were determined that Kiszko was their man regardless of any evidence to the contrary.

But let's not forget the vital role the four girls played in his conviction. The trial judge even praised them for their "bravery and honesty" and for setting the train in motion.

In 1991 the four girls finally admitted that the evidence they gave was false, and that they had lied for "a laugh" and because "at the time it was funny". Their perjured evidence helped convict an innocent man, yet none has ever offered an apology.

Stefan was jailed aged just 23. He died after one short year of freedom.
