This was a reply to someone who disagreed with the idea of men having to earn their place in society. She deleted her comment before I could send this but I think the ideas here spark an interesting discussion. Thoughts?

As an average man, If I did nothing I'd be worthless. A deadbeat, a layabout, a man child. Take your pick. An attractive woman has always had worth to men. Sometimes to their detriment. If a woman never had any men in their life they would still have worth to others.

Most people have value, some are monsters who we'd all be better without. But unlike women, men need to understand that there are consiquences to not being of use. The concept of worth cannot blanket fit the same between men and women because we are inherently different. The world interacts with men and women differently. This isn't a gender war to women or couples becuase they don't need to fight to live like I do. I haven't earnt my value yet, I'm still working on it.

No one should be abused. Worth doesn't factor into an abuser taking advantage of someone. But just because women have suffered doesn't mean people can look me in the eyes and tell me my pain doesn't matter. Women and men were never going to be the same or live lives that look anything alike. We are dymorphic.
