This has been on my heart to say. I've been arguing with people about it on YouTube a lot lately. The stigma against having a paternity test needs to be broken. Women need to stop getting offended and there NEEDS to be laws protecting men from fraud. Men have a RIGHT to know the child they are raising is actually theirs. It takes a MASSIVE amount of time energy money and effort to raise a child. And if you have nothing to hide why do you care? Don't you love your husband? Isn't his peace of mind worth everything to you? Don't you believe your spouse has a right to know? It's a major d**k move to put your own ego over the relationship of a father and his child. So. Many. Wives. Flat out LIE about the father so why shouldn't a man be able to get a test without the mother's massive ego getting in the way. I believe a paternity test should be legally MANDATORY before any father is allowed to be put on the birth certificate. Period. That should be LAW. And women should be charged with fraud for lying about the father. When this issue has come up amongst our friends I have ALWAYS told my husband when we have kids I would not be offended if he wanted a paternity test and in fact, I WANT to get one asap. Because I have nothing to hide and I never want there to be even a shadow of a doubt in my husband's mind that our child is in fact his. Only a monster would lie about the father of the child. The truth will come out. It ALWAYS does especially with everyone taking DNA tests for fun now. Only a monster would trick a man into a raising a kid who isn't his, trick their own child into believing someone is their father when they aren't, and lie to the REAL father that he isn't a father thereby preventing him from being there for their child. Not to mention all the false medical history that could really mess your child up. No excuse. Men have a RIGHT to know the child has a RIGHT to know and only a selfish monster would stand in the way of that. and courts need to stop forcing men to pay child support for children that aren't theirs it's ridiculous. If a man was fraudulently tricked into raising a child why should he be then responsible for that child if he was raising it under fraudulent circumstances? I guess in the USA now if you get away with fraud long enough it just becomes the truth. I guess I say I'm Jessica Alba long enough it becomes legally true guess I'm just going to show up at her house and move in then. EDIT: I also wanted to encourage men to have this conversation with their partners BEFORE you get pregnant. Make your stance known whenever the topic of politics comes up. That way she's less likely to be offended when you have a calm discussion about your beliefs before it's even an issue. That's what my husband and I did. To be fair we love to discuss politics tho so my stance as a men's rights activist was clear from the beginning so it might be hard to have the conversation but it's worth it.
