We know why women should have legitimate fears of men in their physical presence. Of course, we know the bear is worse, but there is still an (in)decent threat from the man. But that threat goes away when the man/bear leaves.

But as #MeToo shows that men's reputations, careers, even freedoms, are at risk from ever having been in any way involved with a woman, no matter how long ago, in any capacity. An accusation can be made at any time.
