I looked in the sidebar and searched the history and didn't see this so if it has been posted a redirection to the original post here would be great.

Everytime I start looking into Mens Rights or Feminism or even try to have a discussion about it I find myself quickly exhausted. It's not that I have no patience or am not open minded I just find many people do not approach the subject with an attitude of discussion so much as persuasion. I eventually just get depressed with the situation and decide while I agree with the cause of improving equality for both genders I am much happier to just focus on my math and physics which have a much more defined language I find comfort in. However I find this slightly sad as no change ever comes about if everybody did what I did and just ignore these tough quarrels and focused on their own passions. Then I just tell myself that if everybody focused on their passion the world would be a better place (sounds like a just world fallacy but I am still an optimist about it).

So my question is how do you put up with the flurry of information while not getting overwhelmed with the vehemency of the situation? Is it your passion, experience or do you find it interesting to learn and see these differences and change your view of the world (or I guess all or partially some of the above).
