Except that all that will happen is that Universities will make it mandatory, and basically press gang students into going, otherwise they'll be banned from campus grounds until they do.

They'll push it as part of making the place "Safer for women"

Even if you are forced to go, sit up the back, put in some headphones/ ear plugs.. and nap.

They can make you go, they can't make you care.

Universities will make it mandatory

I wonder how many people will catch the irony of forcing students without their consent to attend a session about forcing people without their consent.

They can force you to answer the way they want as a condition of being a student.

They're already doing that with training in the business world. "You have to complete this training. It's your job." "The answers are wrong. It won't accept the right answers." "Just answer like you're supposed too! Everyone has to do it. Why do you have to be so difficult? Do you even want to work here?"

No, but the corporations have paid cash to both parties to pass special rules to crowd out the smaller business owners. And somehow the "answer" to this most people that care come up with is "more government, so they can make the problem worse".

Do these consent trainings teach women how to give clear and unequivocal consent as well?

[–]Tmomp 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

More importantly, to get consent themselves too, because no woman has ever asked me for consent. By "only yes means yes" rules, they are all rapists.

Everybody has to realize the rules are draconian and based on false, misandrist principles. That's why they only apply them to men.

[–]whelponry 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Every male student on a campus who sees training directed at males should send a certified letter to the administration of the university asking whether or not the same consent training is offered to women, and if not that the letter then constitutes an immediate complaint for Title IX gender discrimination for singling out males.

[–]Tmomp 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why don't they bring only rapists to these trainings? They're the ones that need it.

They can't tell who are rapists and who aren't? Then don't act like all men are rapists. Rounding up the usual suspects on the basis of sex is sexist. Stop perpetuating the sexism we're trying to get rid of.

I know I wouldn't ever attend one of these accusation parties if invited to one. I would likely tell off the idiot that invited me.

I think this path of just simply not attending these idiotic wastes of time will catch on and eventually these dense feminist idiots will understand that their baseless accusations are NOT welcome anymore.

I graduated just as they were putting these up and as I recall it was "mandatory" but not really. A freshman wouldn't really know they didn't have to go. But if people just stopped going I'm sure they would push for it to be actually mandatory (can't sign up for classes without doing it or something)

I wouldn't be surprised at all if it lead to that.

[–]Mythandros 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's a truly scary thought.

women “asking for it”, catcalling and groping is an everyday part of the lives of women and LGBTUA+ people,

I guess Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Allies, + others.

But U? Urban Dictionary fails to deliver here.
