Well, so... Seems you've decided the feminist viewpoint is your enemy. That's made quite clear by your tone. But, the key to properly defeating your enemy is to understand them.

So, in essence, "the patriarchy" is just a concept. A nebulous idea, that can be described, but is ultimately intangible. There are aspects of it that ring true... But being nebulous in nature, some of the more extreme elements have stretched the concept to cover anything, encapsulating concepts that don't ring true.

For generalized example, "the patriarchy" is intended to describe the subliminal aspects of society, as designed by men, typically focused on the negative. Concepts like "a woman's place is in the home". Of course, for women, this is negative. If you don't get why, don't bother reading further. The negative for men is the idea that men shouldn't be "stay at home husbands". I say this rings true, because really. Say "stay at home husband" out loud. Sounds odd, doesn't it? Also, the whole idea of "ladies first". While it's rare to hear feminists complain about it, it perpetuates the idea that women are delicate flowers. Shouldn't it be more like "you first", because you're being courteous, not because you're referring to a woman?

Of course, in a certain sense, the MRM also fights against the concept of patriarchy, because we're well aware that the idea doesn't benefit us either. At some point (in the relatively recent history), it described a social norm. But we feel it does not belong in the modern world. We're glad to grant women an equal footing in this world. Our shared, collective world. But patriarchy, as described by FemRads puts us at as much of a disadvantage as it does them.

I think feminists see it like this.

1) Society on the whole benefits men over women ie Patriarchy

2) Therefore men have an interest in the maintaining the status quo

3) To maintain the status quo, gender roles and social norms are reinforced by social pressure

4) Therefore anything that makes it hard to break gender roles or social norms benefits men.

The Patriarchy doesn't control us, it is us. It's made up of men, and benefits all men. That's why all men have it better than all women, because the huge Patriarchy is working for us.
