My questions to all white men (only because I am a white male) out there: Do you really feel like you control more of the world around you than women or minorities? Do you feel like you have any more say than they do? Do you feel like you are compensated more than they are?

I've dug myself into a similar sort of hole. At work, my boss is constantly checking out women. He knows I've dated women before (not right now, though). He likes to ask very blunt questions, which I usually answer, because I'm not ashamed of my sexuality. Now, though, he's taken that as a license to tell me exactly how he rates every woman aged 14 and up that enters the store. As well as graphic details about cheating on his pregnant girlfriend. And asking me for tips on how to 'bag' the cute barista next door. And he thinks it's weird or suspicious if I don't particularly want to talk about some chick's ass.

tl;dr My asshole boss thinks that being a part-time lesbian means that I must objectify every customer we have, or else I'm probably just doing it for attention.

Maybe your hardware store cashier knows my boss?
