Well, it seems like the article you linked is mostly trying to stretch and twist the definition of “queer” and “straight” to make this somehow LGBTQ vs The Straights, when all it is really saying is “open your minds, ditch gender norms if they don’t suit you, and pursue your own happiness outside of what is expected of you”.

I don’t really understand why this had to be made a sexuality issue, or why queerness even needed to be brought into it since they are strictly critiquing couples that are male + female.

I don’t think that the author realises that many gay relationships, be it between two men or two women, often do settle in to each person having their own role. This can be dependent on many factors, but it’s not rare for a homosexual couple to slot into some “gender roles” depending on who is more masculine, feminine, confident or submissive etc.

We aren’t in the 50s anymore, and we are seeing more and more couples that are choosing to not marry, to not have children, to not stick to monogamy and to experiment in the bedroom. Many straight couples nowadays have both people working jobs and helping maintain the home.

The article feels a little redundant, and pointing blame not only to the wrong people, but for an issue that is remedying itself over time.

That said I find it amusing how feminists can do mental gymnastics to justify signing on to all the gender and sexuality BS, because it actually ends up hurting women most. How can they advocate for women's rights (or privileges or special interests, as is more the case), if they can't even decide what a woman is. Without a stable concept of woman, and one which is readily observable to all, how could they possibly do all of their self-serving junk surveys about sexual harassment and assault, and whine about dirty jokes, and the made up wage gap, and discrimination, and equal representation in tv and movies, etc.? How can they ever know that the CEO with a penis is not in fact a woman? How would they know if despite 80% of a boardroom being "people with penises", these are even men oppressors or poor oppressed transwomen or non-binary "folx". Lol. And of course, the instant they are finished chanting "trans women are women", one assaults them in the ladies locker room.

The TERFs actually have something right in their activism. Of course many are still man-haters all the same but at least they are a small bulwark against the gender insanity.

It is not bad to give someone and inch but you should be careful so they don't take a mile.

For example I have no problem with gay lesbian bisexual people . It is not normal behavior but it is acceptable behavior. Normal meaning the vast majority is not homosexual and sex and attraction are a part to reach the goal of procreation as a species . The fact that it is not normal doesn't mean that we need to be judgmental about it , we can let them live in peace and see what problems they face and try to help.

About gender identity now, it is a whole different thing from different sexuality cause you don't question your sexuality but your whole self. I believe we can help these people but I really believe it is something to be done with the correct scientists and doctors. Not the ones who try to exploit this whole situation and view this as business. This is doing harm to those people .

My honest view is that we saw this as a craze and immediately everybody jumped to capitalize on that and many people are starting to deny the "nature" of things and believe its all "nurture" which is really dangerous especially for something so vital. I believe day by day we strive further away from the truth and now we have kids at 4 years old being told to choose what they like more as an identity instead of letting them figure out without forcing anything on them.

I remember reading that science figured out that the part of the brain responsible for sexual attraction develops mostly during puberty and then becomes non-plastic (non-learning, inflexible).

An example of how this can play out is a guy has a "type" and his wife and exes all look eerily similar.

So any efforts to modify this in adults are pretty futile. Best you can do is paper-over it and maybe resist some aspects that that part of your brain is pushing you toward.

An example here is some claim that a good portion of male brains develop toward polyamory - absent cultural norms, laws, etc. they'd be trying to copulate with as many women as they could and be in relationships simultaneously. History provides many examples, so it's really only a question of how prevalent it is.

To me, an unanswered question is how much does the social environment effect the development of that part of the brain during puberty.

I've read of cases where a couple tries to hide a newborn's gender from them. Insists everyone use non-gendered pronouns, dresses them non-gendered, tries to give them non-gendered toys, but are still horrified when the boys take to playing with trucks and boy toys more and girls play with dolls more, mimicking being a mother to them.
