It's interesting, and worth studying. Given that the places where microfinance is deployed often have subsistence economies, I would expect more 'traditional' gender roles to exist, and in that context, the conclusions make sense. The implication of the paragraph is not entirely weighted toward either gender, but suggests that loans can be profitable at lower margins to women, but that venture capital is best spent on men.

OP-Can you please help me understand the focus of this thread. At, least can you share the conclusions you draw from your post.

Well , it makes a certain amount of sense that they consider males a risk. It's just a fact that men default much more often.

With that said , the returns are %11 for men and %0 for women. That just bears out the well-known fact that men take more risks when it comes to money. Still , I see their point but don't understand why they're lending to anybody given the statistics. Take risk by lending to a man (who will provide a return) or lend to a woman who won't default but who also won't provide a return.
