He plea bargained a deal where he didn't admit guilt but had a 6 months good behavior bond.
They made a second false accusation, and he was given home detention being only allowed out for therapy and to mow the lawn.

Parents are suing the school district and the DA for gender-based discrimination. And the other parents.

I hope this goes somewhere, it sounds like the school has a problem with "believe the victim" and / or rigid "assume the male is guilty" rules. Couple that with zero tolerance and this sort of stuff is inevitable.

Yup, that's his only sin. And for that, he was forced to pay a lifelong penance even though he's been found innocent.

Back in... 8th grade, I think? I was sitting on the bus like other normal kids. Sitting across the aisle and back o e seat was this girl who was always a jerk to me. I was kind of leaning out into the talking to a few of the other kids across from me and I hear, "hey tomothy37!" from a bit to my left. I swiveled my head to see who'd said my name and caught a glimpse of her face as her shoe slammed me in the nose and mouth. I was somewhat miffed, having just been kicked in the face, so I dove across the aisle and tackled her in a way (I shoved her down with my forearm against her collarbone). I had one arm across her upper chest/collarbone and the other on the back of the seat in front of us to hold myself up, and started saying, "if you ever kick me in the face again, I'll-" but was rudely interrupted by the school jackass, who began yelling, at the top of his lungs, "RAPE! RAPE!". The bus driver pulled over and, asked what happened (to which there were three total accounts, two of them involving me "jumping across the aisle and grabbing the girl's boob", the third an explanation of the whole ordeal from start to finish), and started giving a lecture on how horrible sexual assault is.

I then spent the next week being "investigated" for sexual assault. I can only assume that the girl told the truth about what happened in confidentiality, because my punishment was only to sit at the front of the bus for 10 days or so. The bus driver, who previously enjoyed my company, never quite looked at me the same way afterward.

I'm very lucky that things went the way they did that day. I could've had a much different life if they decided that I'd done it and needed to be sent to juvie or something. The girl later decided that I was her emotional fallback (we never dated, but she would come to me for sympathy when her boyfriends broke up with her) for some reason. I never had a problem with it, but I always thought it was a little strange.

Although this is a good post, its title does not say enough about its subject. This forces people to click and read before they can decide whether they are interested. It also makes searching impossible.

If everyone did this, the subreddit would become unusable.

So please don't do it in future. Take the time to describe your link, and save the time of hundreds of other people.

When making a title, it's best to assume the reader doesn't know what you're talking about - but don't go overboard with every detail. Then check if there are any words you can cut out without losing any important information.
