I’ve been browsing this sub for a while but don’t really ever interact. I’ve been able to read a large chunk of posts and comments, I think. And I just wanted to leave one thought.

I think the MRA mindset is a natural conclusion of objective analysis on the western world we live in. Coming from really fighting what we’re taught growing up and what media and culture tells us, to try to see the truth and make a real difference because of it. But that doesn’t mean others can’t stumble upon the same or similar conclusions from very flawed mechanisms or assumptions.

What ultimately separates this community from the feminist communities is an ability to exercise self constraint on its ideas and actively question its assumptions, rather than silence them. To see others experiencing a “get rekt sjw” rush and actively stop to prioritize truth over reassurance and affirmation of the ego, rather than getting caught up.

Really glad this sub often has commenters who call people on the same side out for their BS when it pops up. Keeps it honest and away from falling into the same mistakes that crafted the echo chambers destroying critical thinking.

In those echo chambers across the internet, media, and physical institutions, I always see a kind of positive feedback loop that drives unfounded, extreme views to go even further due to censorship of opposition. Not to mention a wide spread set of assumptions that are essential to the working theories feminists present, yet entirely barred from challenge or question despite being reasonably contestable. Often these are protected due to the negative emotional association ideologues have with what the world actually may be like should those assumptions be false. So instead they turn a blind eye to the possibility and refuse to engage it.

However in this sub I’ve been able to consistently find a healthy push-back against those who post truly unfounded claims and actually misogynistic perspectives. There is more benefit-of-the-doubt given, devil’s advocate played, to keep up the pursuit of truth.

So thanks for everyone that takes time to also call BS here and there instead of just hopping on the bandwagon every time. It’s important to challenge the assumptions of other ideological groups, but even more important to understand our own assumptions. Keep it up
