I'm not sure if it's just me but I signed up to Instagram's threads not long ago with the intention of finding somewhere that's less of a cesspit than X and discovered a whole HOST of misandry all over the algorithms, from both bots and real people, from subtle blaming of men for their own mental health issues and just outright "all men are scum" posts, when reporting these accounts it's obviously met with the usual "this did not break our rules" bollocks yet the reasonable and level headed responses people had given them are actively being removed.

This isn't just a Threads thing either, I noticed on Instagram there are hoards of women, again both real and bots, just outright branding men who are playing with their children on reels as abusers or rapists but you get comments removed and warnings for just calling them something as mild as melons (this happened, I had my comment removed for calling a hysterical woman a melon for saying a man playing with his son on a scooter was abusive).

How can anyone, especially during men's mental health month, say that men have got any sort of voice when we're actively being silenced if we defend ourselves but the actual abuse is left for all to see, there's an argument to be made that online is not reality but this is how today's generations are learning about society and it leaks into day to day life, there will be hoards of young women looking at these tweets and thinking it's normal and millions of young men feeling like they're worthless because of it.

It seems to me like these social media companies have a no tolerance policy towards everything from racism to misogyny but misandry gets a pass because of something my great grandad might of done long ago.

Getting off social media isn't an option, I've been a photographer for the past 10 years, my livelihood depends on social media marketing but I feel like I'm being pushed out of my own workplace via bullying and there is absolutely nobody to take account of this.

Is this just me?
