It is normal for your mom to have a strong emotional reaction to such an abnormal situation. It is unfortunate that she cannot see

A) that she should apologize for violating your right to privacy

B) that masturbation is normal.

I would not say that your mom's being a feminist makes this in any way representative of feminism. I also do not have any reason to believe that the situation would have been less shocking if a male dad had walked in on his daughter masturbatinf.

Sounds like really strange behavior... but assuming it's true.

Men are not allowed to enjoy their sexuality, from the beginning of life we're circumcised which violates our sexuality and reduces our pleasure. Then we're shamed any time we have a sexual thought or action, and told how dangerous we are to everyone. We're told that our sexual pleasure is perverted, whereas women's pleasure is liberating and healthy.

If you really want to take it to your "feminist" mom. You need to ask her to sit down for a conversation, and try to explain to her that she violated YOU by barging in, that she's shaming you for your sexuality. Pretty much use her language against her. If she still wants to throw you out, leave knowing that you're not the crazy one.
