I came across this article recently: https://slate.com/human-interest/2016/08/new-studies-eco-friendly-branding-must-be-super-manly-to-attract-manly-men.html

At first I thought it was just a joke. The title reads like satire. But then you read the article, and this is the first line '' Men are more likely to buy eco-friendly products and donate to environmental charities if the branding strokes their fragile masculine egos ''

And this is a mainstream article.....open to children, teenagers, all impressionable. And this is the stuff that they're reading growing up.

Now imagine if a man had written an article similar to this, and stereotyped, degraded women in it. Like women are more likely to buy a car if it has stupid girly patterns on it, because they're more preoccupied with the aesthetics of a car than its horsepower.

And used emotive, subjective terms like '' fragile masculine egos ''.

There are people who write articles like that (on the opposite wing), and they are instantly considered as underground and shunned away from mainstream media. But why is it that talking sh*t against men is considered appropriate?

I don't see anything wrong with the article. It says that men are more likely to purchase something if the product exudes toughness or masculinity. I thought that was obvious? Lol. Why is that a wrong thing? Why is it wrong to be macho?
