In another article, it states the girl exposed her genitals in the pictures. The mother has produced and distributed child porn involving her own daughter and not only is she kept OFF the sex offenders list, but she avoids further jail time.

I hate the term pussy-pass, but this is exactly what this is. A guy in the exact same situation would be on the list for ever and receive a jail term

Good lord, the woman is a childcare worker! What would be the sentence for a man in the same circumstances! No word on if she gets to keep working in that field, and why can't she be named?

So I guess the man is in jail for possesion of child pornography? On the sex offenders list, right? I assume he asked for these images so he should be on the list. My point is only about the disparity in sentencing.

This woman is a disgusting piece of human trash, not only should she be in jail, but her daughter needs to be taken from her, and she needs to barred from ever working with children again.

The judge who originally sentenced her decided it would be counter-productive to her rehabilitation to send her back to jail.

Counter-Productive???? I hope the attorney-general keeps pushing this case higher up!

So if I'm Aussie woman I can just keep racking up suspended sentences as long as I don't get caught committing the same crime twice?

Well big fricking deal .. lengthening the suspended sentence .. lol. This sends a plain message .. Women can get away with taking pictures of nude children and distributing those pictures. (child porn) The Judge in this case should be removed from the bench. This woman is disgusting and also had a record. I wonder how the father and daughter feel about all this? Major .. Pussy Pass!

The previous theft sentence is not a relevant antecedent (prior conviction). It is a completely different type of crime. Australian law (and the law of England, Ireland, New Zealand, and probably many other places from South Africa to Belize) does not regard a prior conviction for (typically) theft as relevant to ones propensity to commit violent crime, for example.

However, a man in the same situation would have got actual jail time.

Wait, what? They can't release her name due to "legal reasons"? I understand this is another country than the US but since when is the press not allowed to release the name of a criminal? Especially a criminal like her who would have had access to other children?
